Really weird that someone else had this idea aswell, I was saying the exact same thing to a mate the other week after showing him the new tunes. It would make sense with what loefah was saying in that interview a while. Would be pretty amazing if it actually happens, Photek's also following the swamp 81 soundcloud

nah! much respect for dBridge but I think it's someone from the Metalheadz 94-99 era.

I wish it's either Photek or Source Direct
Hmm Bad Company were around late 90's though, The Nine was definitely late 90's.
ug, no offense, but that would make me sad! bad company was one of those DnB groups that just killed the sound for me :?

What do you mean by 'killed the sound'?

"killed the sound for me"

pretty self explanatory really, in the late nineties a certain style of DnB became predominant, and it turned me off of the music, for the most part. bad company is a good example of the style of DnB i could just never get into. to each their own and all that

that being said, there are still a lot of great DnB artists out there, i just became really disinterested in where it was heading around 99...

The very first Photek tune I've ever heard was on John Digweed's Global Underground 19: LA it was "Mine to Give" - that was the highlight tune of whichever CD of the two it's on. However it was Satoshi Tomiie's awesome dark mix, and not the original.

No offense taken, always respect your opinion Fract. I do understand why people don't like their sound, I'm not really into it at all now but I used to love it.
Still really like the following tunes though:

Also the Production on this tune is immense:

Plus you can't deny how good True Romance is:

Loefah wrote:[...] I was listening to a lot of Photek at the time. It’s minimal. It’s the placement. Think about the ‘Bleeps’ tune. The beats are still intricate but there’s still space in between them.

Hopefully another full circle..

Would you ever get back together with Jim as Source Direct?
Because we started out so young we kind of eventually grew apart. When we signed the big deal with Virgin there was a lot of pressure on us and it drove us apart really and we almost began to hate each other which was a real shame.
We had musical differences and it all just fell apart. A lot of it was to do with the pressure and stress of having a major deal. I don’t think it will ever happen to be honest with you. We don’t really speak any more and a lot has happened in the past which no one will ever know.

it would never be source direct

for me this is source direct at their best.

this is the other side to approach and identify, also an amazing tune. so stripped back and simple.

don't make 'em like this anymore!
