If I got this game (haven't bothered playing anything since Morrowind), I'd probably stick to being a Redguard or Dunmer as per usual.

Also lol@ everyone raggin on Pkay; I have to agree that this shit has gotten out of hand. Yes, the Elder Scrolls have always been about the side quests, and it was cool when that was only the shtick for a few games. However, its getting annoying that it is becoming the main focus of all these kind of games. Theres a lot of side stories I don't give a shit about. If you're going to say there is 40+ hours of gameplay, I expect that in the main story, not 10 hours of gameplay, then 30 hours of side story to do if I choose so, or happen to run upon it.

the whole point of sandbox games is sidequests and exploring at your own pace/plot points you care about
it's not meant to be a linear go from objective a to objective b for victory playthru, hence the replay value and all the different ways to play
people don't seem to hate on the gta series for this

oh yea and the 360 version leaked last week, yet pc gamers still get all the drm bs

I guess this would be a bad time to start playing Oblivion?

they're both epic games and incredibly different to one another. Saying that though im sure i'll be playing skyrim on the hardest difficulty possible now.

Not really comparable outside of RPG elements and dragons.

they're both rpgs with focus on freedom and exploration. they handle things differently (combat, npc interaction, etc), but to say they're not comparable is retarded.

You don't really have that much freedom as the game artificially determines where you can go via near-impossible enemies. It's nowhere near as open as Elder Scrolls. And Dark Souls has pretty much no RPG interaction.

but you're still free to go anywhere. morrowind was the same way. oblivion sucked because of the level-scaling and removing any sense of danger. this is only partially fixed in skyrim. and the lack of story and npc interaction does suck in dark souls (although a story is there, i think its actually pretty deep. it's just left to the player to figure a lot of things out), but we all know skyrim wont be much better than oblivion in this department. i already read a review where they said something about doing one of the new fist fight brawl things, and the npc got up after being beaten and cheerfully said "hello!" or some shit. this is still a bethesda game, not bioware or black isle. im sure skyrim will be filled with more "i saw a mudcrab the other day" bullshit. i will still enjoy skyrim though.

I love fallout and new vegas, but hated oblivion, will i like this? it was the slow storyline and stuff in oblivion that i hated, and the olde english language... but i keep seeing trailors to skyrim and it does look the bollocks..
