the answer to the question posed is that they feel he does not deserve the accolade he has received and that the person hating is qualified to make that determination.

liking or disliking someone's music is all good, but making assumptions about someone's intentions/character/integrity/etc. and then passing judgment on him based on those assumptions is bullshit... especially when you've never even met the person.

I had no idea the guy even existed until a few months ago....I found out about him when I watched this vid of him responding to the "haters", and only then did I start hating him... The turd wad makes an issue out of a non-issue and ends up bringing the hate onto himself...

I honestly have no problem with the guy. If you think his music sucks thats perfectly fine, but to say that you hate him and that he is butchering dubstep doesn't sit well with me. I enjoy all flavors of dubstep from the filthy stuff, to the soulful smoke a J kind of stuff, it really just depends on my mood. And to bring up the fact that he looks a certain way is an incredibly ignorant thing that any music lover could say in my opinion.

1- his attitude is the same vulgar rock-stupid-ego-centered attitude you find in the fortunately dead rock'n roll. (cf steve aoki...)
2- in matter of taste, it is not too complicated, he does not have one. his "music" is one of the cheesiest and vulgar thing ever produced.
3- he is a fantastic opportunist and utterly marketing user using sounds from others from the real dubstep and drum&bass underground scene ( he tried electro then dubstep and tomorrow rumba for sure if he does not succeed... ) showbusiness skill: 1 spontaneity: zero.
4- skrillex fans have been identified like having a negative I.Q. (and a knowledge of music and art as long and deep as a suicidal mosquito's life)
5- he is an impostor because he's cynically "wear" the tag of "electronic music artist" whereas he is an ex-rock 'n'roll loser who know and represent absolutely nothing of the electronic culture, more he is actually the opposite...
6- skrillex fans make their best to act and to think its cool to jump and mosh like if mosh-pit was not a 30 years ago rock'n roll thing..
7- due to his sell out attitude he's killing slowly but surely dubstep innovations and innovators, making look dubstep like another name for drum&bass...
8- his fans are too often more ugly than himself ( which have to be considered as a real authentic performance though)
9- hes not a dj, he is a face full of spots tweaking knobs with the "sync" function activated using a mic to say the exact words "hello New york... i had a fanstastic time... you guys are incredible" in the same order in each city. (even if he thinks himself the show was not so fantastic you get the point...)
10- people used to laugh at him because his real name is "Kleenex".

Except that about half of his stuff actually is (admittedly horrible) dubstep. There's only so many ways you can respond to the amount of hate that man gets, and he handled it pretty well imo.
