'Buckingham Palace'
'Hype Park'
'St Jame's Park'
'The Mall'
'The V&A'
'Tower Bridge'...
..I could go on..
All these things are fundamentally associated with the monarchy. are you honestly suggesting that Britain would be better off without such awesome heritage ?!
People saying shit like this really winds me up. What is it that you want ?! Just some bland, mediocre single layer society made up entirely of a hoplessly blunted middle class ? Everyone the same, noone rocking the boat ?! I cant imagine anything more repellent.
Also spare a thought for all the people helped out by 'The Princes Trust'
Go fucking pick on those pseudo-socialist-phoney-mutherfucking new labour butt fuckers if you need someone to hate on so badly.

London isn't Britain. Obviously it's in it, but it's only a part

Don't think New Labour can even pass for pseudo-socialist these days.
The cost of the monarchy is a drop in the ocean compared to money the government piss away elsewhere.
Hmm....

For me the Queen is the 1 person that's been in my life longer than anyone. and I'm pretty sure my olders are the same.
youngers dun seem to have as much national pride (sweeping generalisation).
God bless her maj. May she live forever.
She makes me think of my Grandparents. and makes me think what they had to go thro. Lizzy has been the propper stiff upper lip, get stuck in England that should appeal to the best in us.
I'm not explaining myself properly but get meh?

I have plenty of pride for my country, (not the government and not going to war)
but I don't associate my pride of our achievements, in culture, music etc with the queen, or any of the pompous, outdated, pampered royal family

I'm not even sure i know but theres something about my drive to work each morning coming from the E3 homeland, along the river then down the 'mall' and past buckingham palace that has really built my respect for what they as an 'entity' have acomplished and what they represent. dunno.. there's just something you cant help but be impressed by.

What does it mean? Being born into a fanily and being told you're prince or whatever, they don't represent the British people. Not with the queen's hubby saying don't spend to long in Eat Asia or you'll go slitty eyed.
Nowadays they just seem like another kind of celebrity. Famous for nothing.
And whats more they cost the British taxpayer money, Yes that big wad of tax taken from your wages goes to having the royal family fly round the world 1st class.
what's changed?

Just don't forget if it was up to some of their relatives, we'd have cooperated with the sizan.
