L Double was a don. He too went down the steppers path and became a big radio DJ and all that, but his early tunes are still way influential to me.
Version. This one came out on Reinforced:
L Double & Younghead - New Style. This one is still an anthem to me 15 years later:
Low Key Movements - Ear Drums. I love this tune. This was L Double, ST Files and someone else. These subs hit so hard. Another Reinforced cut:
Bass2Dark, Music of the 90's, there's a bunch more.
EZ

Same shit different decade.. (or now even going on two) lol.. A lot of people are so blind to how much the two are pretty much the same music. It was always a Jungle thing for me from the mid 90's on, I played a lot of the Jump up stuff when it came out for parties but aomewheres around 2002 -2003 I really just started waiting for something new to come out. Most of what was popular was that whole really busy Heavy Metal -ish sound I just couldn't get with (sound familiar?). Granted I really loved Techstep when it first hit a la Nico, Trace..etc. I still have mad crates of records, I can shred as a Ragga DJ.. Different era though, not interested in ever doing DnB again. I had a front row seat!

Y
His track piper, obviously quite a hit for him was one of the first dnb tracks i heard back in 1994-5 and is still to this day one of my fav. The bass is hard, the mood is just right. I guess I was too much of a junglist at heart.
One guy that did convince me otherwise about 2-step drums is Jonny L. His beats had a heavy snap to them and he had a way with his basses. In fact, before this thread even came up, I had his record Cut-Off / Move Upon sitting on my turntable. These two tunes are so dope and the bass hits so hard, I can't find them on Youtube or else I would put them up. I don't know if anyone else here rates him or not. The Bells is another classic.
With that said, my favorite label is Reinforced Records. That shit really influenced me.
