Didn't realise Armour was an Vex'd alias. Wonder if he did anything else in that vein?
this really brings me back. good good shit. I still listen to Barry Dub and Caramel Cognac pretty often too. Milanese fucking killed it. just so fucking dirty!
It's ironic - the excision darkside dubstep 2006 mix was really good, and full of a lot of tunes in this style! go get it if you don't have it..
Curious how much breakcore is actually gonna get released on the Core label. I'm expecting way more UK gabber/Frenchcore and industrial hardcore, to be honest. Even the parties hardly book any breakcore anymore, aside from, I guess the Teknoist and Dolphin and stuff and they're more 4-to-the-floopr leaning, anyway.
Wtf is Frenchcore? I hope it's not like the hardcore (of the rock variety) festival I went to in France, I thought British emos were pathetic but the home crowd there really put us (and, thus, themselves) to shame!
"Frenchcore" is basically a style of gabber that is mostly made in France. Has a distinct kick sound (distorted four-to-the-floors with a reversed distorted kick between the regular kicks), some industrial influences. Some producers combine that with some breaks and a lot of hip-hop influences too.
How many people even into hardcore here? Like, I know that breakcore gets some love and in a lot of ways, the breakcore scene was the first scene outside of dubstep itself to embrace dubstep. But I don't see a lot of love for the kicks here most of the time.
