very ture! I remember it gettin droped at Stratford Rex at 3 in the morning and the place went crazy! It was big feel good tune before it got so rinsed out/chart etc etc It was well diff at the time, that tune started the return of a vocal dnb phase.... LK followed it if i remember rightly and loads of other i cant be bothered to think of or look up.RagoJu wrote:What's happened to opened arms for the diversity of dubstep?
Oh and Shake Your Body used to go off in dances, I'm talking pre-chart business too.

The orignal is an soul tune that was on Minnie's Perfect Angel album (produced by Stevie Wonder for those that care) It came out in 1974.Delendi wrote:it's lovers rock anyway innit? the original? so yeh, it aint meant to be a stomper lol
There is a lovers rock version by a lady called Janet Kay, which is nice too.
(Fans of Minnie voice should check out her 'Adventures in Paradise' LP which is packed full of great songs and Hip hop samples.)

i like it, something differnet. kinda reminds me of the way hip hop/soul tunes are being produced with the scattered beats and deep bass, bit like dilla and sa-ra stuff.

Lovin You is NOT by Alicia Keys!!!!relaks wrote:Alright, then, so I been confused. Which is the Coki Alicia Keys refix? I was always told this track was it.
Regardless, rude tune. I like it.

ahhh got confused with which was first. which was stupid now i think of it, cos lovers came a lot later than soul. janet kay also has a ridiculous vocal range. i heart her.

Random bit of trivia: She had wrote the song about her baby daughter, Maya Rudolph, who was also in the studio at the time she recorded it (you can hear her singing "Maya, Maya, Maya", towards the end of the tune. Some ppl may recognize her daughter as one of the current crop of unfunny cast members on Saturday Night Live.Markle wrote: The orignal is an soul tune that was on Minnie's Perfect Angel album (produced by Stevie Wonder for those that care) It came out in 1974.

I've loved that song for years....the original was gorgeous, and it was definitly a trip to hear it get the dubstep treatment. It ain't the best track ever written, but if it ever does see a release, I'd pick it up just for sentimental reasons..
I'm surprised this thread has gone 4 pages without any 1 mentioning the classic The Orb tune from 1989 with the same sample. but then I am oldN-TYPE wrote:It was ORIGINAL
