It was pretty fun doing the A-B on this one. I used my Rokit 8s and a pair of Seinhieser HD600 to do the comparisons. I did not use any other plugins on master except Elephant. The 2 files are in fact very different if your ears are tuned well enough to hear the minor subtleties. I will make both available for dl for a little while for those of you who are interested. In the end I do think I ended up liking the MaximalSound version better. It was more noticeable on the sections that have a greater dynamic range and less while everything is going full throttle. It just kinda sucks cuz the clip I got back only had a very short section of the drop so it makes it difficult to get into the listening groove.

Keep in mind that the track i used is by no means finished and it is just a rough mixdown but all of the beefy elements are in there.

OP, think you've already promoted yourself, why not talk a bit more about what you are doing. Try not to hide anything, in reality nothing you are doing is really a secret, for the sake of discussion, and our ears maybe educate some of the people here? Not only that but there are some of us here that have quite a wealth of knowledge that you could probably benefit from as well, this is a forum after all and meant for informative discussion.

I agree that they sound different and I think the MaximalSound one does sound a bit better. But its not like earth shatteringly noticeable to me. What was you overall perception of the differences? i notices that the Maximal Sound one was way punchier on the kick and snare (i am not sure if I like that though) and a little clearer in the highs maybe?, maybe a bit more saturated... Its also my tune so i'm not really on the outside looking in.

its generally a little tighter. its was fairly obvious on my A7s and AKGs but on the laptop speakers it was EXTREMELY apparent. Reason it was so apparent probably comes from the taming of the low end dynamics. Would account for you what you describe as a more punchy kick.

Yeah multiband compression will do exactly that, I guess his "de-expander" or whatever he called it, essentially does the same thing. I just listened to them on soundcloud, if the difference is apparent when its transcoded to a 128k stream then you can imagine how much a difference will be noticed when its a lossless file.

De-expander:
A de-expander can also be called reverse-expander. A de-expander amplifies the signal below a threshold in contrast to an expander which attenuates the signal below this threshold. This choice is fundamentally different than techniques related to compression. The signal is amplified when it is weak and not planed when it becomes too high (above threshold). The difference may seem subtle, but it is significant when the attack time of treatment is taken into account . A compressor will act always too late (attack time) on the peak values, forcing the limiter to affect the transients which are so valuable to the perception of stereo space. The de-expander just amplifies the signal after the attack time, avoiding any unnecessary limiting.

Don't know for american payment cards, but i can use mine on PayPal to buy things priced in dollar. Did you even tried? I have a lot of US based clients which have no problem for payment.

I am not trying to use your service, I was speaking on behalf of the kid who is trying to pay you for your service. If it were me instead of arguing I would try and resolve the issue with the customer.
