Skrillex said reptile was him trying to make moombahton, but it turned out as a four-to-the-floor 110 bpm track. He didnt say the song was moombahton.Perfecture wrote:1. Skrillex himself said that 'Reptile' was his bash at moombahton (Don't take this as me saying that cause he says it is moombahton that it is)RandoRando wrote:???? reptile is kick on 1 and 3 and the snare on 2 and 4. Just like every other songPerfecture wrote:If you want to know about how the drum rhythm is for Moombahton and the patterns, Listen to something like
Skrillex - Reptile OR Knife Party - Zoology.
2. Its the same tempo as standard moombahton (around 108 bpm)
3. Moombahton isn't just defined by the kick and snare placement.

Re: moombahton basic drum arrangement?
Been making this today.
Kick gets on all fours, snare on the third semiquaver of the first beat, then offbeat of the second. Throw some latin percussion in between.
I also found layering the snare with a hihat filled out the range.
