how you promoting it?jayladders wrote:Myself (Jate) and my mc Cheebs have recorded a number of podcasts we call "dub sessions". its a purely vinyl mix with a bit of joking around and chatting inbetween. I also make tunes and put them up on the soundcloud. i never expected it to "go big" or even to have much notice taken of, and seeing that there are a number of plays but hardly any comments or communication regarding the tracks and the podcast, im beginning to wonder if theres any point uploading this shit? if anyone has any experience in this kinda thing, do tell. thanks
Unless you are incredibly lucky people wont find it.
You need to let people know. As someone else said you are doing it cause you love it and thats the starting point.
Let people know what you love, explain whats happening. How you feel about it. Thats your unique selling point (if you will forgive marketing parlance for a moment) after that what do you want those podcasts to achieve?
If its feedback, you wanna hear what people are saying then invite people to comment. Give a chance for people to text, tweet, email, FB message you with their thoughts.
Open up that dialogue with people, engage with them and then move from there.
How you hosting your podcasts? You got a blog? You got a list of gigs coming up in the area?
Do that, provide something that people wanna hear and people will listen. Most of all keep doing what you love to do because then you will always achieve.
Chin up, head down and let us know how you get on.
