Re: Can't continue! How to make ableton hold a note!?
mate takes me about 30 mins to upload a 5 minute video.

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

what kind of internet speed do you have?brettheaslewood wrote:mate takes me about 30 mins to upload a 5 minute video.
Currently during off peak hours my speeds are:
1.22 Mbps download speed
0.16 Mbps upload speed
I was told I would have 3Mbps upload and download speed.....wow.

Re: Can't continue! How to make ableton hold a note!?
when the note is being drawn in and you have preview enabled you get the sound being generated in the synth and fed through whatever fx chain is engaged. if you have automation on a track you will only hear the automation working when the track is being played through in sequence, automation by its definition is only engaged at a certain point in time.Dzanjin wrote:If that were the case, why would it sound different from when I play it to when it is played back from being drawn in?Undrig wrote:Sounds like you're using some sort of internal automation within an effect that is using a different phase on the notes for the 2nd pass.

I understand. I will check tomorrow more for the automation in the effect itself and not for a line on the track.
Thanks to all that have helped so far. And P.S., I got the internet guy out here today and turns out they were shorting me 1.5Mbps! It was some "accident"

Let you guys know how the sound turns out tomorrow. Hope I can find it.

**UPDATE**
I FIXED IT!!
Thank you to everyone for all of your help!
I know there were a lot of you that were close on the answer, but I couldn't see it. I checked and double checked everything.
Turned out the loop mode in operator on all four oscillators was correct as far as the timing, but it was set to sync. I turned all of the oscillators off except for one and went one at a time comparing it being played from my keyboard to playback. The first one was fine set to sync 1/4. The second one was different in that when it was played back it sounded almost like a double kick right off the bat then it would get back on time. Same with the remaining two oscillators, so I changed it from "sync" to "beat" and voila. Presto Chango.
Thanks again to everybody who helped, you guys are awesome. Multiple pages, 40+ posts, and almost a week, but we figured it out.
That's dedication on all of your part. Thank you.

Re: Can't continue! How to make ableton hold a note!?
good stuff, now the most important thing about this whole affair is that its taught you how to troubleshoot. going through a track step by step, removing layers of complexity one by one so you can track exactly where the signal path is doing and what is happening to it every step of the way.

I couldn't agree more. I learned so much from running into this problem. I took everything apart, piece by piece and really saw a lot more in depth of what everything does and how such a tiny tweak can make such a huge impact.
I've been able to continue to build the song since I fixed that issue, hopefully will be able to release it today!
