what is the best game you've played in a couple years?

Dark Souls does look interesting but it's not on PC I believe.

Just played the first few bits got me that cuprino vehicle. Very good game, nothing wrong with
it visually + it runs like a dream and my PC isn't that new. Mutant Bash is a lot of fun too.

Just got to the second area, and shits starting to go down. Although I still have no idea why I'm fighting The Authority. I know that they are the "bad guys", but I'm not really sure why yet, other than they do a bit of genetic testing...

Oh wow. That ending was a bit underwhelming. Pity they didn't put more effort into the story other wise this would have been a much better game. The 2nd disc seemed to just fly by. I was expecting to have a lot more to do unless I missed a bunch of side quests or something...

Currently about 8 hours into this and loving it. Gameplay is sooo good but the storyline let's it down quite a bit.

Definitely recommend this. @Shekul - heard good things about Dark Souls.

Dark Souls is overrated

It's being hyped on being insanely difficult. My friend and I are about 25 hours in and only died about 4 or 5 times. Not exactly blistering punishment, then again we don't suck at video games.

Just noticed you can move way faster than any mutant + you can easily jump like 20 feet.
Also, there is the stair boost jump things like in the old engine (with Quake 3 and 4).

I felt like it was the other way round. In the second zone now, and I still have no real idea why I'm fighting the Authority other than that they are "bad".

Gameplay wise the combat is good, although I was hoping for more freedom to go and explore places.

Well just seen the credits, but I don't think there was an ending to the game...

The last part was way too easy, haven't even used that big canon (was saving it for ginormous authority mutant). Hardest part was definitely gearhead area. Also, you never feel like you've acomplished something, the last car is no match for the authority ones for example.

Overall great gameplay but on normal it's pretty easy for someone who has played fps games before.

I was quite disappointed with this game.
Nothing wrong with the gameplay - visuals are great, graphics are very high quality, sound is good. Although, from the makers of Doom & Quake and with the help of Bethesda, I expected far more than 10 hours of gameplay on Hard difficulty. There was nowhere near as much freedom as I expected - it still had the same structure as any other FPS game, just with a bit a of driving between levels. The story was not at all well developed - I, like many others, was completely unaware of who the Authority were until I basically came to my own conclusion. Pretty lame selection of weapons, the best of which you get to use for no more than 1 hour. I'll not hesitate for one moment to trade it in when BF3 comes out next week.

I`m really enjoying it so far.
I`m having graphics issues though.
Even after updating everything.
Hopefully the patch solves it.
Still playing regardless, as I`m really having fun.

Yea this is a great game, but the story does let it down as people have said.

The online mode seems like fun, but I've only played it for a bit and I reckon the novelty will wear off pretty fast. As for the campaign mode, it's fuckin beautiful.

I think the authority are the bad guys cus they just want to control everything. Like a dictatorship. That's the way I see it anyhow.

It`s pretty well explained really.
I knew who they were once visiting the professor and getting insight into things.
Including the mind control dart skit, which explains.

I installed the update last night and the game went from running superbly at full res to running log shit.
That`s not the way updates are supposed to work.
