Rarely pay attention to names, cause they're usually guff anyway, just pay attention to how it looks, feels & smells when I'm picking.
Re: maknig up cannabis strain names
mighty ducks crossed with air bud
Was talking about movies obviously and I was like that's a primo bud name.

Re: maknig up cannabis strain names
Some guy once sold me some bud called Armageddon. I had to stop myself from almost laughing when he sold it to me.
Next day, roll one up with my flatmate before work, go outside to smoke, come back in, freak myself out about being too high to go to work and spend the day at home playing megadrive and eating mass jaffa cakes

Round here, all the little rude bwoi dealers basically call anything that's strong Cheese. It's like they don't know it's a strain, just a word to say it's strong.
My housemate was getting weed from a guy calling it Pineapple express. He's like "yeah this is like the stuff from that movie like, did you see it? called like pineapple express, that's this stuff man this stuff"
"In SOMERSET?! England?!"

oh yeah, that mythical strain.
originally made up for that film, a few seedbanks went on and made a pineapple express strain.
but what they used on the film was some fake shit, as pretty much every hollywood production.

Lol do you lot really care that much about strain names ? Only times I get interested is when I'm in Holland. Otherwise it's either "good bud" or "shit bud"

if you`ve ever grown then you`ll understand the strain name debate.
If I don`t know for a fact what it is, I`ll often fight the price.

Fair enough, I don't smoke that much anymore, only while going out.

Re: maknig up cannabis strain names
I used to have all my seed neatly marked in seedbank packs, always clearly marked the plants, etc.
Once you`re smoking the bud and have different strains identified you really appreciate the different flavors, highs, etc.
So when you buy, you tend to want to know what you`re smoking.
Often to be able to compare what you grew to the original or to be sure you`re getting good smoke.
But to be honest, I haven`t found any bud I thought was comparable to what I grew.
So If I hear a name I really enjoyed I may put more effort into getting it.
But this is pretty pointless when the guys selling the bud are just making the name up.
When you start to grow out hybradised strains that have been watered down with every added crossing, you start noticing the generic skunk smell over specific smells you notice with bank bought seed.
Blueberry is unmistakeable when it`s the original DJ Short.
Neville's Haze is unmistakeable when from Mr Nice compared to say Greenhouse seedbank.
Chimera uses a common Male and Female to produce his genetics resulting in slightly sweater, stinky fruit overtones.
Very different in comparison to a generic skunk smell/flavor.
etc. etc.
etc.

Im being far too sensible here but it's simple.
Blueberry + haze = Blue haze
white widow + kush / purple = purple widow / white kush
