Mine was last year, and the most terrible thing that it happened during my vacation - I was in Egypt and went for a safari ride, the trip was overfilled with people, and I just fell out of it at the highest speed possible... I broke both arms, a leg, was bleeding all over, and it took quite a long time before they could get me to the hospital... well, at least I am glad I didn't faint, so I was not that close to death... but everything could happen!

This happened to me as well.
Not exactly the same.

I was in the car with my family also at around age 4-5.
I was asleep in the car while we flew along the highway.
I woke up in a daze, opened the door and climbed out at probably 120-140km/h
I somehow managed in my dream-state to still grab the arm rest and just hung there while being dragged along the road.
My dad stopped the car and my uncle pulled me in.
I lost the front of all my toes.
Blood everywhere.

Freakin lucky to have not died though.

Nearly drowned in a capsized canoe once.... was during a canoe lesson oddly enough, infact the bit where they were teaching us to recover from capsizing.... Capsized, then my foot got stuck in some horrid position in the canoe and I couldnt get my head above the water, was actually terrifying. Someone flipped me over.

Once got hit by a car, I remember seeing the car come at me (he was in the wrong for sure; cut corner), then I woke up in an old couples house with a glass of orange juice. Luckily no serious injury, but apparently they just found me in the road, guess the tnuc drove off.

Decided to go spear fishing with a mate when I was about 14-15. We bought a pair of those guns that have giant rubber bands that you stretch back. We were trying them out in the house, and my arms got tired of pulling the rubber, so I held it in an awkward position against my chest and was pushing it down towards the hook rather than up. A harpoon went shooting past my chin and lodged itself in the ceiling.

So i was 9 or 10 years old on a holiday with my aunt and few,of her friends. They had kids too and i made friends with them etc.
Once we were into the woods, with an axe and we went on cutting and kicking down the old, rotten trees. We knocked down a few, but as my mate was chopping this next one he hit the tree and a bigass branch has,fallen on my back from 5 meters or such knocking me on the ground. I was lucky it didn't land on my head.
But as we were on hill, the part that scared me the most was that i was on the ground, barrel rolling downhill when i see the tree behind me, my mate chopped it down with that last hit so i was basically rolling down the hill, with the tree rolling behind me, unable to do anything useful because even if managed to stop the tree would crush me pretty badly. It got caught between aome shit or something luckily enough and i came out unharmed. We didn't tell anyone

The other one which was pretty bad, was when i was 14-15 maybe? I was starting off with parkour n shit and back then every body started doing flips and shit. So i was with my mate and we see two classmates (girls) going by so i decided to impress them with a frontflip. Looking back i don't know,wtf i wanted to do i landed on,my ass all the times
Anyway we were,jumping in a sandbox. Relativily soft, i thought. Soi jumped, made a half-assed front flip and managed to land,on that thing that ends your spine at the bottom... I felt a stinging pain and in absolute horror i found that i couldn't move my legs... After 15 seconds or so i got slight feeling in them back, though a very little. So,i crawled onto this bench and laid there for good 15 mins. I was ok after, though.

And i fell,on a snowboard in full speed. I was back to the hill, riding the front edge, when i went over some bump and it threw me off and the back edge slammed me on the ground head first. I dunno hpw the fuck nothing happened to me when i wasn't wearing a helmet, but i shook my head (did hurt a bit, tho) and kept on riding

When I was a toddler my mom had to work early in the mornings and would blow dry her hair in the bathroom with an extension cord that was plugged-in in my room. I woke up and thought it a fun idea to bite through the moving cord in the near-darkness. I was shocked so intensely that I passed out. It was like an old antenna TV that you don't have the proper reception to... I turned out normal thankfully. Still have a small scar on the left side of my lip.

Earlier this winter/fall I was biking downhill and hit a patch of ice and it sent me veering into traffic oncoming traffic... I managed to get back on the road. If it had happened 5 seconds earlier I would've been flattened by an oncoming truck. Had no control over my bike and I wasn't even going very fast.

1 Trying to light a fire, I chucked in a mugful of meths, huge fireball came up which just stopped short of my face.
2 Car crash caused by oncoming driver falling asleep at the wheel veering onto the wrong side of the road. My wife and 3 kids were in the car too which was a write off.
3 Speeding down the steepest hill in town on a mountain bike, I hit a manhole cover that jolted both my hands off the handlebars. Managed to regain control. Probably wouldn't have died but I could have seriously mashed myself up.
4 Woke up driving home late one night.
5 Got stuck in a gully up a mountain alone, couldn't go up because of wobbly rocks in wet mud, or down because it was too steep. Didn't want to make a prat of myself by phoning mountain rescue, but I'm still not sure how I got out!
6 Most recent one 2 years ago, I got chucked out and separated from my kayak in big surf, in a riptide. So many waves came over my head that I really thought my number was up, until my mate plucked me out just as I was giving up.

when I was 2 I fell off a step backwards and cracked my head, apparently I went blue and stopped breathing..
for some reason we didn't have a phone in the house so my mum had to leg it round the neighbours to call an ambulance, I got my colour back and started breathing before it arrived but she said it was one of the scariest moments of her life

apart from some hairy kayak tings and a few vehicular near misses I've been pretty lucky I guess

Almost a year ago (28th of Jan 2011) I was the passenger in this. My sisters boyfriend was driving but had a stroke at the wheel and we hit a Frontera headon with a combined impact of 90+. They suspect when he had the stroke he must've put his foot on the accelerator, but neither of us remember anything about that day so we'll never really know.

Still recovering from some of my injuries now, But had a compound break on my right humerus which has a plate on the underarm now. Right femur broken so have an intramedullary nail from hip to knee to support it, and the seatbelt ruptured the lining around my bowel meaning for two weeks, I did nothing but throw up and couldn't eat for about 30 days as I wasn't able to actually shit it out so lost nearly 3 stone that month (came out at just over 8 stone from 11.5 when I went in) before they realised what was happening. Subsequently removed the part of my bowl that was then trapped by the healing torn tissue and i'm still technical a hernia risk due to the other lovely gash.

I did get a pretty nifty scar on my right arm, about a cm thick and 6 inches long.

A couple of motorbike accidents- one where I landed in front of a car and had a view up underneath the bumper it got so close to running me over.

A heavy plant pot fell from 4th floor of a building on to the pavement about 5 feet in front of me as I walked along once, probably just a couple of seconds away from quite a lame death!

I once fell off a wall after being told not to walk on it by my mum. Stupidest thing I've ever done.

As I fell my forehead smacked the pointy corner of one of the bricks on the wall.

I'm left looking like harry potter, can't remember it at all though. Knocked me out cold and woke up in hospital with a dude poking and prodding at my forehead. I literally split my forehead open.

My mum thought I was dead and had to put me in my sister's push chair (i was 7 at the time) and run down to a chemist down the road where they dressed it and we waited for an ambulance.
