I bet if you asked any of them if they enjoyed their job they'd say they didn't... being idle is amazingly overrated... I had 3 months off on full pay the other year when I was waiting for my consultancy to find me a new contract... wasn't at all good for the soul! I was properly grumpy after about a week!

Just had 2 weeks paid holiday from the day-job myself.
Absolutely amazing, as everyday i woke up knowing i had the whole day to focus on pushing my career,
and being paid by the day-job to do it!
Ended up with some business plans, clients lined up, job applications sent, portfolio improved. All whilst still feeling like time off!
That's how i know i love my career!
The day-job however, is wank...but it's an income for the moment
a bridge between school and the career as it were
