Going to London in a week - Need some advice

A horrific notion indeed. Between the horrors of 1960s concrete architecture that means that the skyline looks like nothing but fear and loathing reside the worst thing: the locals.

While not getting confused between their football allegiances (Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid or Barcelona), they make sure that they always holler odd sounding noises akin to "Euuuurgh!!!" assuming that it's an insult - although always just out of earshot, and only when there's about twenty of them to your one. If, of course, they are not this intelligent, they will just take a swing at you - and for the same reason: individuality. Yes, like the Iron Age, thos ethat do not look like they are in for a bit of a kicking - although at least back then, fire was not such a complex connundrum (barring the Marlbro Light they stub out in your face, naturally).

Any new store that opens soon becomes Croydonised - a complete waste of time as the service is anything but a service, and you realise Central London is only 15 minutes by train. Unless, of course, you want to use the landmark of the area - the Ikea on Purley Way.

if there was a new Ring of Hell, it would be Croydon. And I'm not making this up - I live in the fucking place...

in the ghetto streets of SE london, some say it is a shit hole, thats understandable as it is realy, however can provide entertainment if you have nothing better to do. i however do.

croydon is ghetto, if you tell people from there it is a shit hole it is likely you will get stabbed, so good luck wankers

imo fabric will almost definitely id you mate, i've been asked every time i've been...you'll have more luck in a 'grimier' venue i reckon

also lulz to the croydon comments, lived there my whole life, it's like a bubble to me; people from outside think it's the most dire place on the planet but people who grew up there have a strange kind of affinity with it—moreso than a lot of other people to their hometowns in my experience

(sometimes i get emotional when my train pulls into west croydon (usually when drunk))

i've honestly never been ID'd at fabric. if you buy a ticket beforehand and print it out they almost just let you straight in, no search no ID. well that's how it's been like the last 5 times i've been there. absolutely staggering

Same. Went last Friday, had a ticket, didnt get ID'd, went through the scanner, got all my shit out my pockets and put it on the table and they didnt even bother to pat me down.

Got into the club without any problems and the night was absolutely huge! A much different experience from Danish parties... Much more energy - Was really one of the best parties that i have been at.

A'int too hard getting in without id, just don't act a dick/be nervous at the door. have to do it weekly. only been turned away from cable so far.

witnessed a massive bloke with a huge beard get id'd and turned away from cable, he must of been in his 30's haha

Finally managed to go to this exhibition on Saturday, it was really really good! Somehow managed to spend 90 minutes in just 3 rooms!

Yeah no chance you will get into Cable or Fabric without ID, you get the Line>Show ticket> ID> Search and THEN you can come up and hand over the ticket

Hehe yeah, it was the second last day, had to make sure I went! Spent aaaaaaages staring at the Book of Time, so awesome! Although we did spot a few bits that weren't cut from the same square of wood. It's given me a few new ideas to try out on something I've been working on. Also kept going round and round the Web looking at it from all angles. The woodcuts were also really cool, hadn't realised that my doodles were based on some of her ideas. Tried to buy a few souveniers but they were all sold out. Luckily, there are prints of some pieces in the free brochure.
