methinks it's got something to do with being a Sony exclusive as you can download it on the PSN, hence why The Twin Snakes was more of a remake at the time. MGS4 is definitely a Sony exclusive, my XBox playing mates are still butthurt over that.

Wasn't that more down to the size of the game than Sony getting exclusive rights though? I remember reading something about Kojima explaining how they pretty much couldn't have made the game if it hadn't been for amount of space on Blu-Rays..

Although I suppose they could have spread it out over multiple DVDs like a few Xbox games have, so I dunno..

Mgs taught me all the necessary life skills: how to be sneaky, using smarts over straight up confrontation, analysing guard patterns, always check lockers for prons...
I wouldn't be able to go for 2 am burns or make late night meals if I hadn't had the values of stealth instilled in me at a young age.
Now if only I had access to a tranq gun...

Sounds gay but I don't know of any other series as cinematic/romantic/challenging/satisfying/down right clever/deep/value for money/interesting/relevant. All the MGS games I've played (all the console ones except Twin Snakes) have been top class. MGS4 blew my mind in terms of the interface/control/attention to detail even though the maps kinda felt like a showcase to me rather than a complete stealthing stage.

My mate actually turned the console off near the end of MGS1 when the codec messages go nuts. At that moment, about 10 years ago, I knew this was the best game ever.

I think that was a metaphor for Snake taking acid.

dude, that's embarrassing :corntard:

I had a bet on that I could get every dog tag in the game between Christmas and New Year. All was going fine until I started talking to an ex about the 28th, then found myself rushing extreme on NYE and never completed the task :( my friends and I are going to have a race once we've all got the HD collection though :w:

Favourite boss in the series? Someone's already mentioned The End, the original Metal Gear Rex fight is one of mine, the Ray vs Rex fight is up there too. Honourable mention to Vamp in MGS4, fucker took me ages.

yeah very awkward but already got used to it.
i thought i'd try and go all out and collect every dog tag in tanker, but then i gave up and went in on some trophies instead.

Just killed Vamp last night, forgot how annoying that fight is, just smashed him with RGB-6.
also anyone else playing on PS3 im starting to notice alot more strange things in game.

like in that vamp battle if you go to the door in the back left, then turn left and look in the water, theres a ration floating there - doesn't do anything, can't shoot it. cant get it, never noticed that ;/

and also for anyone who saw the box glitch on the conveyor belt, i tried it with an alternative box last night and it still sent me into pitch black doom.

So if anyone wants to check over this

a)go to Strut E parcel room, then get on the conveyor belt at the bottom of the room. then equip box (save before you do this though if you havn't in a long time)
b) check for ration in vamp battle

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

I have actually never played any of the MGS games so I'm seriously considering picking up that HD collection now.
Would that be worth it?

Thanks for the heads-up btw, didn't even know it existed.

Probably the greatest console game franchise ever, it's truly an intelligent adult game. Non of this FPS headshot count shite, It requires skill, patience and concentration. I bought the last two Playstations for this game.

Guess that's a yes then :D

Time could be a little bit of a problem though, but fuck that. I've read so much about these games and I've seen how they scored in the media so I guess these are just must haves.

I dunno, MGS4 is fucking good don't get me wrong, but theres just sommit about that leap from MGS1 (PSX) to the new and improved graphics on PS2 in sons of liberty which made me spurt soo much juice 11 years ago!

in order for me it'd be

MGS1
MGS2
MGS4
MGS3

played that peacewalker last night, why do i find it soo fucking difficult?! it's too bulky and poor, like the comic like cut scenes though.

PAZ OUT!
