cd's were usually mixed with a few individual tracks on vinyl only, future sound of chicago from 95 is a good comp of relief\cajual tracks, have a look at the b.b.e and harmless records back catalogues aswell, they put a lot of compilations out.

I've recently been (re)discovering a lot of early 2000's minimal/microhouse. Just thought i'd give an alternative set of artists/labels for the OP and other folk to check out.

Most of this list is pretty unfashionable with all the retro chicago/deep/acid stuff going about at the moment but that doesn't matter cause it's still amazing.

Matthew Herbert (Bodily Functions/Around The House)
Michael Mayer (Immer)
Superpitcher
MRI (Rhythmogenesis)
Akufen (My Way)
Dub Taylor
Matthew Jonson
Ricardo Villalobos (808 the bassqueen, frank mueller melodram)
Luomo (Vocalcity/The Present Lover)
Melchior Productions
Isolee (Rest)
Mike Ink/Gas

Labels: Force Tracks, Perlon, Kompakt, Playhouse

Sick tune, agree. But if we are talking about Max Cooper lets talk about Gui Boratto - man is a genius.

My single recommendation: (Pre-"Rooty") Basement Jaxx and related acts Ronnie Richards & Corrina Joseph.

As others have said there's plenty of quality house music and producers out there but I'm not a fan of dumping big lists of names on people.

Big up whoever name dropped Matthew Herbert, that man is a fucking genius.
