The Ford and the Subaru are pretty horrible tbh. Reminds of the type of car you would design in Need for Speed when you were 14.

Its all personal preference, but if you think "subs in general" are stupid, well...i think YOU'RE stupid.

Doesn't have to loud though, just a nice amount of bass.

It's not chavy at all unless you're a chav. Sheeeeeeeeit, my mates mum has a sub in her merc and she's a 50y/o professional. She just likes a bass line the same as the rest of us!
Yeah i put a sub in my moms car years ago (1 12" with about 150w), lol. She said it made all the difference though, shes been bugging me to put one in her new car for quite some time. Her stock sound is so shit though, definitely need new door speakers/tweeters first.

foci(lol?) are really nice cars, not sure if i dig the hatch though. but that flat black paint has me drooling.
@spire completely agree. all it is is sound quality, whether you decide to blow the trunk off or spick it out is up to you.
even putting a sub in a stock system helps the quality, with an aftermarket head unit you get an extra 15rms or so to each speaker and you get to high pass the stock speakers to take low end load off of the shitty paper drives and get rid of that gross flopping bass. i wish my mom would ask to put a sub in her car, hahaha id love that.
