What's your favourite system tunes?

r. mutt
Re: What's your favourite system tunes?
No one said it was weak, just that it was disappointing for us. When I heard it it came soon after Distance - Temptation. THAT tune made me feel like I was in some kind of electrified cloud. Holy shit. Goat Stare, unfortunately not...JizzMan wrote:Loefah - Root/Goat Stare/Horror show/Mud
Pinch - Swish (Distance Remix)
Mala - Anti-War Dub
Coki - Spongebob
tunes that are insanely heavy and also gets the crowd going mad basically
to those saying goat stare is weak, it must be the system cos when I heard loefah drop it in fabric one time it felt like I was swimming in an ocean of bass lool

Temptation's a beauty, I'm yet to hear it on a system but even on my crappy headphones it sounds heavy lool

Distance's Swish remix is pretty brutal but i can only ever remember hearing it on the irration rig so i guess it was always going to be.

Glad it wasn't just me who thought the dock stage was a total bag of wank, compared to the other systems and stages at Outlook. Easily the weakest bassweight of the entire festival YET had the best lineup, so disappointing. I reckon they had a db level limit so they couldn't raise the system levels due to sound interference with main arena right next to it, which unfortunately for us, gets priority.apmje wrote:Yes yes on the Kode9 set. Fucking crushing.Moultz wrote:completely agree. the bottom end in that arena on that system was brutal. Skeng into Samurai (quarta remix) left me stunnedbaddis98 wrote:the sound on that stage was a mess, 4 days long, bassweight not present. i was really gutted as artist-wise the dockside was the highlight of the festival for me. spoke to one of the promoters after the weekend and he told me it was the best system they had and that they chose it with mala. fair play to him, but the sound wasnt dmz worthy in any way. now the fort arena... felt a little crippled when i left after kode 9...Maccaveli wrote:It was disappointing for me too when I heard it on the same night as most of the other tunes I named, I think it's just one track that needs an absolutely MASSIVE system to really give it the treatment it deserves.apmje wrote:Goat Stare was really disappointing when I heard it at Outlook....to be fair, I think the sound system was shit for the DMZ night.
The actual quality was great (Martin Audio) it was just the sub gain wasn't raised enough. When I posted this option on the main Outlook thread everyone choose to ignore me. No one could accept it was actually a let down systemwise. "Oh man DMZ were so fucking good. The Dock stage was the best" yes they were amazing, the rig? No it was a joke compared to the Fort arena. The boat parties had heavier weight than the dock stage, really hope this is sorted out next year.
In fact it won't be, the dock stage is doomed as it will always stay at that level due to the main stage stepping on its feet

Re: What's your favourite system tunes?
keep the dock stage. It wasnt fucking criminal but it was a let down to see so many acts on there who deserved more weight. Just move DMZ to the fort or something. Can see the reason behind it tho because in 10 people had to basically go into the Mungos arena a good hour and half to get in for DMZ and if you left you wernt coming back in.
What they should of done is just told the main stage to fucking do one during DMZ's set. The place was heaving around the dock stage and i doubt they would of received any complaints if the main stage was getting slightly drowned out for an hour and half. There was only one place to be on that Friday when they were on....

Still get goosebumps whenever I look back at the video of it. Everyone in that room singing, the bass and joints being passed.
Blimey..

Yeah mate, but a few of us were actually saying the same shit. That it was a whole load of bollocks, if it aint fixed this year I'm going to be fuckd off.
OR they could just put DMZ night on main stage and crank that sonofabitch. But I don't think Mala wants to be on the mainstage.
