Yeah, I always knew Mick was a little bit of a tnuc, but I thought he was quite good friends with Kevin. And he done a mix on Mary-Anne's show with King Cannibal not long before that, and I remember reading some of his MySpace updates years ago where he was bogging up Dubstep and slandering those who didn't know it.Genevieve wrote:ELABORATE, PLEASE.joeki wrote:Mick J. Thy said, guy is a little enigmatic. Maybe you should've booked him to do a set next to a fishing lake, he would've liked that.

Re: Forum drama
HAHAHA YES. That's all his myspace was. Bragging about performing without MIDI and fishing.Dead Rats wrote:Yeah, I always knew Mick was a little bit of a tnuc, but I thought he was quite good friends with Kevin. Re: Forum drama
Well I'd gather you some fine quotes, but his account was deleted after he had yet another run in with a forum member.
The shackleton rambling was when I chose to go see Shack over his performance with Enduser in Ostend (mind you this was after he had told me to fuck off). I said to him why should I drive 2-2,5 hours all the way to Ostend to come see you after you told me off on several occasions, when I can go see Shack 30 minutes from where I live.
He proceeded to call me a liar, Belgium only takes an hour to cross so I must be a liar. Then he went on one of his "WEAKENER SOFTWARE SHIT ITS ALL ABLETON ALL SOFTWARE IT SOUNDS WEAK I USE HARDWARE LIKE A REAL MEN NO PRESETS WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET, SHACKLETON IS WEAK PRODUCTION NO BOARDS, NO HARDWARE".
And basically this happened whenever anything remotely dubstep came up. Mind you, he often apologised for offending people directly when his rants got out of hand, but next chance he got he would still say exactly the same shit. This happened on numerous occasions. I told him exactly the same thing, "aren't you alienating yourself from your target audience, I mean after all wasn't it Mary Ann Hobbs that got you a gig on Radio 1" => Proceeds to rant against MAH, basically London in its entirty is shit and doesn't know quality music when they hear it.
His rants targeted at JKB were purely jealousy if you ask me.

Re: Forum drama
When I was 16 there was a net forum that was owned by an asian magazine
and some members on there were from my home town. It basically became
the place to go and slam other people in town and the website got huge hits
for this. The general population of the forum became the asian teenagers in
my age group from my town.
One dude on there started uploading photos of girls he was shagging that all
went to the same all-girls school and then had a rating system he developed.
Cue mass hysteria and real-life beatdowns between crews of boys because some
of those girls were "in relationships" but were exposed as fucking around on the
side. Some of those girls were friends and then subsequently, their friendships
ended.
I mean - there were "polls" to see which dudes would shag which girls in town and
people were blatantly trying to hook up with these girls off the site. It all got messy.
In the end the mods decided to pull the plug on the whole thing because they just
couldn't control it all. But it fucked up a few people's lives at the time, namely the
girls who were "named an shamed." It wasn't pretty.
I lurked. I fapped.

^^ Hah! Similar to my forum drama:jazzamataz wrote:...
I used to post on a Libertines forums back in the day (what? I was a kid, the Libertines were the best thing ever to me at that age, and Pete used to post and invite people to gigs in his flat and shit), there was this guy who used to boast about his sexual prowess. There was a set of silly/informal rules on the forum. Rule 1 being 'to post a picture of what you're talking about'.
Rule 1 was invoked, and this lad posts about 20 or so pictures of girls he'd claimed to have gotten with, each with descriptions and ratings out of 10 for how they performed in the sack. The error this guy made, was posting photos from facebook, someone then posted the links to the facebook profiles of all of these girls. Leading to rule 2 (link subject of rule one to the thread) being invoked. Apparently it got the guy in a whole load of trouble as he worked with quite a few of them. I think rule 3 (link family members of subjet of rule one to the thread) was also invoked.
The guy never posted again.
p.s. If I remember correctly, for an average looking guy, this guy had gotten with loads of really hot girls.
p.p.s. Found the thread in my favourites, but it'd been deleted, the title was ''the ultimate rule 1ing of facebookers that have been on the end of a fettling''. Classy.

The ultimate thread was on Dogs On Acid, “A man fucked with my father tonight, I put hin in his place”. (Look it up).
The story & subsequent forum fallout was so huge, so hilarious, and so massive Evol Intent even did a song about it, called Dead On Arrival & all the speech from the song come from a studio recreation of the Original Post… (which has since been deleted, but if you have time, you can piece it back together through quotes)

Ebay Focus - now SFS (and flyered)! (People take the piss out of badly modified car, owner finds out and joins board to discuss the matter with them. Made the funnier by the fact that their forum autocorrects tnuc to FRONT BOTTOM)
