What a surprise, dubfordessert looking to get offended over something that somebody didn't say.... Attitudes like this that make the SNH such an enjoyable place to be. Somebody mentions something derogatory about a single female, and it's a slight on every one of them.wormcode wrote:Who said that?dubfordessert wrote:didn't know getting DJs removed for not playing the music you like made you a skank. man, so hard to avoid being a whore these days!!!
This. It's the obsession with celebrities I've never understood, and has seen the likes of Danny Dyer and Phil Mitchell from Eastenders play at my local nightclub in the past couple of years (there are others, people from reality shows, etc. but I don't know their names). People will compulsively go just to be in the same building as another human rather than go to see someone who has talent and may play something they haven't heard. Their loss, I guess.hayze99 wrote: it is a sad, sad, fucking sad commentary on some spheres of culture.

Re: Is It Over?
Well, you've given me lots of reasons to ignore her... but are any of them good enough to warrant bringing her up for the sole purpose of spreading negativity? (I realise it's not your thread btw)hayze99 wrote:Paris Hilton has no artistic merit, no entrepreneurial merit, is a bad role model, and has set the lowest possible standard for music imaginable. Stop fucking defending her.
Thousands of untalented men DJ every single week. I used to live with one. He made a bit of cash and got laid a LOT by playing electrohouse-by-numbers to students and mash-heads. At the very core of its function, the DJ is a service... they're there to provide music for a party - it's only really up to the people at the party to decide whether they're any good or not. If Paris Hilton played shit Electrohouse at System she'd get booed off. If we turned up and played a DMZ plates set at her party we'd get booed off. But if we weren't interested enough to go to or even find out about the actual party, why on earth would we look at clips of it on YouTube just to make ourselves angry? Isn't that.... mental?
To put that into context - I tend to ignore reality TV stars and "celebrities" (i.e. the ones famous for being famous rather than their actions)... it's not very difficult, tbh and if it wasn't for SNH I would have absolutely no idea what Paris Hilton has been up to since about 2003. You're all helping her career by ramping up her controversy.
But the most disturbing bit is the way the insults change for a female. If a male makes shit art or is considered to have sold out or cheapened a scene, the insults are all based around that. Around the actions that pissed people off. With Paris Hilton (as with Tulisa and however many others) the music is the second thing to get judged - the first thing is the fact that she's a pretty girl with a rich Dad that we can prove once had the audacity to ENJOY SEX. Not that she became a pornstar or anything... no, she made a sextape with her boyfriend (as I imagine many ninjas girlfriends have done with them) which was then distributed behind her back - probably one of the more traumatising experiences a woman can go through short of physical assault and rape.
But still, it is true, she had sex at least once. The man she loved filmed it. The man she loved then sold it to the rest of the world behind her back. She's such a whore.

Are you serious? Show me an example of you insulting a male celebrity with "skank" or "whore" and I'll accept your point, but there is no way you'd be using those insults against a man or against a woman who hadn't been forced into the nude in front of you.wormcode wrote:Who said that?dubfordessert wrote:didn't know getting DJs removed for not playing the music you like made you a skank. man, so hard to avoid being a whore these days!!!
There's a big difference between sold and starred in. Would you consider your girlfriend a whore if a friend of yours found a tape you'd made and sold it? The Hilton family contended at the time she may have even been underage when it was filmed. It's not like she worked for Vivid Video.RightOnTime27 wrote:lol do the people getting pissy about her getting called a whore not realize she has several sextapes she's sold?

lmao, yes, it's me calling people out for constantly referring to women as sluts, bitches, whores and skanks that are making the SNH so "unenjoyable".garethom wrote:What a surprise, dubfordessert looking to get offended over something that somebody didn't say.... i'm sorry getting to talk about women in such derogatory terms is so integral to your enjoyment of the forum.
funny how homophobe. and ****** get autocorrected but you don't seem to have a problem with that? ever think there might be some racists and homophobes who have had their SNH experience totally destroyed? gawwwd.

Jesus fucking christ. Who here constantly refers to women as sluts? Somebody called one person a slut (whether he's right or wrong I don't know, I don't follow the sexual relations of a woman I don't know) and you completely flip at everyone.dubfordessert wrote:lmao, yes, it's me calling people out for constantly referring to women as sluts, bitches, whores and skanks that are making the SNH so "unenjoyable".garethom wrote:What a surprise, dubfordessert looking to get offended over something that somebody didn't say.... Look through my posts, and I'm someone always defending the rights of women. Because I've made a comment that goes against you, you make out that I'm some sort of oafish sexist that lives to degrade women. You can fuck right off if that's the case.
I DO have a problem with people calling women sluts and bitches all the time, but this is somebody calling one person something. ONE. If somebody called me a dickhead, I won't act like they're packing white people/men/people with blond hair/whatever.
Sorry if I've gone too far here, but seems to me that you're looking to be offended at any opportunity, and you really pissed me off when you made out that I'm fine with people being needlessly offensive to women.
Re: Is It Over?
First of all, her point was against Wormcode, not you. And Wormcode did use the word Skank, so she wasn't accusing anyone of saying anything they didn't say.garethom wrote:Sorry if I've gone too far here, but seems to me that you're looking to be offended at any opportunity, and you really pissed me off when you made out that I'm fine with people being needlessly offensive to women.
It's worth taking into account that the people most likely to get offended by sexism (females) are in incredibly low numbers around here - there's around TWO of them posting with any regularity. So yes, everytime someone has to complain about sexism, it's likely to be the same person complaining. That isn't because that person's obsessed with sexism, it's because this forum has become so utterly unattractive to most women that we only have 2 female contributers.
Perhaps we should listen to the complaints rather than drive our friends away even further*?
*I realise they're not real "friends" to most people, but us London Ninjas actually, like, see each other in real life. I get a bit protective when they're not allowed to socialise on the board as they would in person.

Re: Is It Over?
No, we should definitely listen to complaints. My point was that wormcode called her a skank or whatever, and dubfordessert then went on some "it's so hard not to be a whore!" flex like he was slating all women. It was clear that wasn't what he meant, and to just blow your top every time a derogatory word is used that can be applicable towards one person can devalue the argument you're making.magma wrote:First of all, her point was against Wormcode, not you. The argument that it was equal to calling someone a faggot or whatever isn't true. When you call someone that, it insults their (and many others') way of life, whereas calling someone a skank because she acts like a skank is just that. (btw, my argument isn't that she is a skank, like I've said, I don't follow her life).
Nobody is stopping them socialising on here, just as the fact that idiots that post "make me a sandwich" joke, etc. don't stop people socialising in real life. I wish those sort of people weren't here too, but climbing down the throat of someone for calling one person a skank isn't going to solve it.
Anyway, apologies if I've unintentionally offended anyone (especially dubfordessert), peace and love (and hopefully no idiotic statements).
Re: Is It Over?
Forced into the nude, what? Anyway I've never actually said those words here before that I ever recall, and despite me being against political correctness I don't really use them anyway. I'm a very respectful person except in rare cases. In this case I don't see why someone would ever defend Paris Hilton lol. It's not like she's a respectable person or philanthropist, she's famous for being promiscuous. Not sure how someone calling her that is more offensive than her personality and image being forced via media upon kids like my nieces and cousins who have no business knowing who that person is. Makes no difference if it's a woman or man. Joe Francis is a skanky whore too.magma wrote:Are you serious? Re: Is It Over?
Not to make excuses, but it was also a tongue in cheek reference to South Park 'Stupid Spoiled Whore' with Paris Hilton which I found to be accurate commentary on kids and current role models: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stupid_Spo ... eo_Playset
Re: Is It Over?
wormcode wrote:Anyway I've never actually said those words here before that I ever recall
Yeah, I think everyone realised "Stupid Spoiled Whore" was a South Park reference, but the thing that got people going was the implication that she's a "skank" because of how she acted towards a DJ. It's telling that you call her a "skank" instead of an "idiot" or even a "tnuc"... because she's a pretty girl we've seen naked (and especially one that we're all a little bit jealous of), our subconscious instantly reaches for the sexual insults. It's the best way to make her seem worthless so that we can feel more self-worth.wormcode wrote:Anyway this is the same skank who gets actual DJs removed for not playing the music she likes and she jumps from trend to trend trying to stay in the limelight like a stupid spoiled whore.
I think I explained the "forced into the nude" comment above... releasing that sex tape wasn't her move, it was her ex-boyfriend's move. Her family at the time contended that she may even have been underage at the time of filming.wormcode wrote:Forced into the nude, what? I've made recordings and photos with ex girlfriends. I expect an awful lot of us have. Of course, I've never shown them to my friends let alone sold them on the Internet. If I did, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be my ex's fault... it'd be an enormous breach of trust on my part, but it wouldn't mean anything about them.
Sure, she's done very well out of the ensuing fame... but the decision to put her sex acts on show in front of the entire world doesn't appear to have been hers. It's not rape, but it's in the same spectrum.
But either way, being filmed having sex with your boyfriend isn't evidence of promiscuity in the slightest... it's evidence of having a boyfriend and a video camera. I can't say I keep up on Paris Hilton gossip, so I don't know anything about her more recent sexual escapades... but the existence of a sex tape doesn't have any bearing on whether anyone's promiscuous or not. It just shows they enjoy sex.... like all humans do.

She's had a shallow-as-fuck career, but do we really have to boil her down to a sex tape and a pair of tits? Just because she's a pretty and priveliged female?
At least she's doing something for her money now.

paris hilton is the definition of a skank; you all know it, you all think it. anyone who says different is a fucking liar.
Re: Is It Over?
I can't see the video, but you'll have to chalk me up as a liar then... she's certainly a vacuous and overpriveliged woman that's never had to fight for anything in her life, but "skank"... I just have no clue.kidshuffle wrote:paris hilton is the definition of a skank; you all know it, you all think it. anyone who says different is a fucking liar.
I've certainly seen evidence that she likes to have sex... but if that's evidence of being a skank then all of our Mums, Grandmothers and Sisters are skanks too.
Have I missed something huge? Admittedly, I don't go Googling for Paris Hilton gossip.... has she been letting Piruus run trains on her 30 men at a time in return for crack?
Or is it that women should hide any evidence of their sexual activity and desire when they're with anyone but their husband? Perhaps Burkhas and Chastity Belts aren't such bad ideas after all...

Re: Is It Over?
Well, tbh, making reality TV and shit books is "doing" something as well... frankly, she could sit around doing absolutely nothing for the rest of her life and never want for anything... but she's a human that needs to do something to stay happy, just like the rest of us... she could live life as a lonely rich nutter and politely keep herself out of all our gazes until she finally tops herself from boredom... I'm not convinced that'd do much to make the world a better place, though.Dead Rats wrote:But she's been doing a few somethings for quite a while, now. Playing Devil's Advocate for PH is a bit difficult because she's not exactly a person I give any kind of fuck about... I'm just uncomfortable that people immediately reach for the sexual insults when criticising a woman's musical 'contributions' - if it was a bloke, we'd just call him a tnuc and move on... but since it's a female, her entire sexual history has to come into the conversation. It says more about us than it does her...

I meant I don't recall ever using those words besides this time, because you asked me to provide you an example of when I used them towards a male. Of course I remember saying it in this thread.magma wrote:Yeah, I think everyone realised "Stupid Spoiled Whore" was a South Park reference, but the thing that got people going was the implication that she's a "skank" because of how she acted towards a DJ. I did not say or mean getting DJs (which I'm not even fans of, so it's not like I took personal offense) kicked off makes her a skank. I used that word before I mentioned her having DJs removed, meaning she was already one in my opinion. I don't find her attractive in the least, and didn't see the video besides the infomercials ran on television and whatever internet clips. I don't buy the not knowing or family thing personally, I think they were most likely trying to save face because they think they are royalty. Either way, she milked it in the end (no pun intended, I promise). It's not like I'm a prude or think sex is bad lol, just the personality and promiscuity (whether it's real or just for 'shock'). I don't follow her either, but kids do and that does bother me when young family members tell me about her private life that they hear from friends because they follow her twitter or whatever.
Apologies for starting an argument, that wasn't my intention and I try to respect everyone on the forum. I should have been more conscious of others on the forum, but like I said, I don't like PC and I forget some people are easily offended when it comes to such things.

They ARE fucking skanks. and she is talentless. and she isn't even a "pair of tits and a pretty face" -- she's fucking hideous and has lousy tits and size 23 custom made Sasquatch shoes.
lol @ "I support anyone getting into EDM blah blah" too are you fucking kidding me? Yeah i could and would ignore it but I saw it, and this shit is good for one thing and one thing only --- absolutely bashing it to hell and getting some laughs amongst ourselves. If you are too noble to stoop to that level maybe you could just keep ignoring Paris by ignoring this thread as well.
Shit is unreal.
And it's further diluted and stupefied the music biz once again

She can't help she was born into a rich family. Poor kids in Africa think US/British people are overprivilidged. We can't help that. But if we suddenly want to DJ and do it, should they attack us personally? Should you attack her? Ok. Lets assume she's a skank. Great. She is who she is. Move on. Don't like her, don't go to her sets...
