on a properly crossedover and reamped system, an unmastered 320 will usually sound very mid range to high range and the bass roll off at 60hz is just not there. it's like a whole bunch of middle range sub and super high end. the whole point of getting a tune mastered is so the bass is managed and tweaked for output at high volume. the whole chestweight thing.
it's not too much to ask to strive for near perfect sound. other genre's have suffered from people not making sound the priority. this is dubstep, and it should be heard properly, or else what's the point. if you settle for mediocrity then people will hear mediocrity.

Get over your preffered format and realise what it is, just a way of you lsitening to music, that all.....who said anything about unmastered 320's? im obviously talking about having a mastered version for each format.

lots of people talking about 320's vs vinyl etc etc..
at the end of the day, its a horses for courses thing.
I dont mind listening to unmastered tunes that my mates have just knocked up, to hear there ideas, see where there coming from, offer advice, give support etc, that's a healthy thing...but when i go to a club, i want pure analogue bassweight, it has to said ,any digital format on a big rig sounds absoluetly shit!
vinyl is for music lovers of all types, i dont think i know a single person in my peer group who buys cd's these days, but every fucker i know got an ipod ,but that aint about really listening to music on a proper deep level.
It's fucking crazy to think the ipod is devaluing music to such a degree, yet they sell albums for 20 nik on itunes store.

A properly mastered wav sounds really good
A mastered 320 sounds good, although not the best because compression has taken place.
You can def tell the difference between vinyl and a wav because its a different sound but to say one sounds better is a bit silly.

On a side note I would like to know what files Plastician uses with serato coz he still buns down fwd with it!

They told me years ago that there was only one old guy in germany who could fix the cutter heads on Neumann Lathes and that he only had 1 apprentice - like some kind of mad yoda/luke skywalker situation.

yes vinyl is expensive and large to store but as peeps have said already - have you really got a 'record collection' on a computer hard drive ? when the drive fails, you got nothin'.
cracks me up that esp with older albums that it costs the same or even more to get them from i tunes as it would to buy the cd original from shops like fopp (rip)

Personally if I could I'd go with dubs all day long. Sadly I have a mortage and a Cat to feed so getting £300 pounds of dubs cut a month is just not an option for me and especially at the rate tunes get set to me and how many I build, I'd be spending 100's a week.
This has been an interesting topic for some time but my thoughts stay the same.

Damn straight, for me its all about balance otherwise I'd live under piles of the black stuff. I buy CD's, WAV's & Vinyl and use Traktor scratch to mix the lot. Its also simple economics same as DJ $hy. Year this is where the industry needs to wake up. I got a free £5 voucher for Beatport and popped on to get some WAV's of some minimal stuff. Spent the whole lot on 2 tunes and I had to be careful what I bought or it could have been more!?!?
