Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 37
Just a quick note guys, if you are submitting tracks MAKE SURE THEY'RE LABELLED AND THE ID3 TAGS ARE UPDATED. Nothing worse than going through my Downloads folder and just have tunes called "trackname.wav" with no comment as to who made them.

*gasp* I know, but don't worry :3ehbrums1 wrote:You've got less than a week
No offense to the 48 hour challenge, but this is way cooler in my opinion.. I love competitions with sample restrictions, cause it really puts your creativity to the test...
Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 37
Managed to half-start 2 songs before committing to a third version. First version sounded like a hip hop song stuck on a raft in the middle of the ocean with no wind. Second version sounded like purple drank waltz. Third version... sounds like me, for better or worse. Funny how when things click they tend to follow previous patterns.

Been tricky getting a nice smacky snare*, but as for pads and bass and instrumental & FX stuff this pack has been .
 .
* Feel free to share tips on what worked for you...

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 37
I think if I'm not mistaken I used either the door slamming or the gunshot.
I pitched it up by 20 semitones minimum and only used the first few seconds of the sample.
Added a fair amount of resonance and eq'd to suite.
Also used an instance of ReaXcomp and compressed individual bands.
I also threw MKii on there and drove it fairly hard to get a good snap.
And a bit of reverb to give it some splash.
If I remember correctly.

Haha psyche. I've joined in on the competition for shits and giggles.

I do this every time. I've downloaded basically every sample pack and not managed to submit a track yet.Ficticious wrote:Haha psyche. I've joined in on the competition for shits and giggles.
