In their defence, their attendance of 24,000+ for a third tier match is pretty impressive considering it was bigger than any other attendance outside the Premier League and bigger than many of the Premier League games from that weekend. I'll give their fans credit for that.
Aye, true.

Thats more than the majority of Scottish premier league games get.

Dunfermline Athletic away to Gretna (yes, this is a premier league fixture...) is lucky to pull 3000.

Oh they joys of scottish football...

Liverpool are just badman and are gonna do alot this season

spurs so desperately need a back four, along with Chelsea, without john terry they r up stream without a paddle

And while I'm on this thread, I actually don't think Liverpool can complain too much about Chelsea's penalty on Sunday. OK, it blatantly wasn't a foul, but the free kick that Gerrard scored from against Villa shouldn't have been given either. These things even themselves out

Paolo, I agree to an extent. Liverpool were given a penalty by Styles last season for a mystery challenge. However, it is appalling that these decisions are being made. Mind you, as a Blue, I'll take it because I'm happy none of our players dived for it (for a change).

Anyway, looks like Martin Jol is going to get the boot. What do you all make of that? Me...I think it's a shocker - Jol is the best manager Spurs have had for a long time. Bless 'em, get all excited about a potential top four finish then chaos already.

hahaha, good point, forgot about that! Show how much attention I've been paying this season. Seriously, Scottish football is just depressing.

Especially when your team are supposed to be the "third force" in scottish football, despite being 9th in the league currently....

Still, same applies to Gretna vs Caley thistle.

How many fans will travel from either Inverness or Gretna for that fixture? more to the point, why would anyone choose to got to Motherwell if they didn't have to? :D

Don't think that Jol will go, Spurs would be mental to get rid of him. Then again, it is Spurs...

Strangely, they do seem to. But usually in the favour of the bigger clubs it would seem...

More to the point, they shouldn't have to. That Chelsea pen, and the David Healy "goal that wasn't" are prime examples of refereeing fuck ups that could be cleared up with a fourth/fifth official watching the game on telly and on the radio mics. Obviously its going to be tricky to work out how to apply it, especially in a game as flowing as footie, but surely it can be done right!

Yeah, thats bollocks! What a waste, Jol is a decent manager, and trashing him at this point in the season waon't do them any good. I hate this "if you lose a few games in a row, you're out!" attitude that seems to stick around the mid-table premiership teams.

Look at Alec Ferguson, he was in for a good few years before he did anything much at Man U, and people were calling for his head back then.

Jol is a good manager what is it finished 5th in premiership 2 years in a row. Thats the best spurs have done in years. It mystifys me why they want to sack him.

Don't think its anything to do with losing first few matches seems like mix of club politics an dillusions of grandeur. Spurs boardroom obviously think that by spending £40 million they automatically should be challenging for the title. That has more to do with a stupidly inflated transfer market 16 million for darren bent wtf have spurs board never played champman thats a pish deal!

They clearly haven't learned from the last time they hired a supposedly "high" profile foreign manager namely Jacques Santini seem to remember it was martin jol who sorted that mess out.

"It was an interesting lesson to learn in how quickly a fire can happen," he said.

"You just don't think about putting clothes that came out of a tumble dryer into a container and the potential that static could do the damage it has done.
so true.
