Dunno if this has changed since he's moved more into "Livity Sound" territory but he was still playing vinyl last year I think.
He played vinyl not too long a go in Birmingham.

EDIT : 1000th post. I want to thank God, my parents and all the ninja's for this historical achievement. I will always remember this christmay day for the rest of my life. When I joined this forum nearly two years ago I never thought I would live to see this day. I'm so emotional right now, nearly crying.

He told me he doesn't cut at the moment but he'll be cutting dubs and playing more vinyl in 2013

Yeah, said he was doing it less this year: only cutting for one-offs and specials.

yes a lot of heads are still /have gone back on it.

it's not and never was a niche thing to do though bros
proper selectors that enjoy their music on any format >> selectors who boast about what they play on constantly.

So is it wrong that I have more respect for DJs who stick to wax?
(I agree that people that go on and on about using vinyl is annoying but i do think format is important, people who use controllers are jokers imo)

No I don't think so, in the same way that some people may have more respect for labels that release vinyl.

But would you rather see a DJ clang their way through a vinyl set or someone play a slick/well mixed set on a different format?

I do see your point mate, not necessarily trying to be argumentative. I'd rather see a good clangless set but sometimes the errors in vinyl mixing are what make it special, and when people use auto-sync mixes seem plastic and clinical.

defo not donny. as long as they come correct. anyway, i respect the vinyl heads that push that format and don't feel the need to boast that they do. what actually comes out of this thread though? are you gonna go see some producer you don't rate because said person plays vinyl?? leave it yh. this is just a chance for some ppl to 'boast' about playing vinyl and shunt down others who don't. @WeAreWax

/

andy c (1000000 vinyl's since '89 don) switched to serato last year and yet my guy still fucks up every dance with his selection :)
ultimately no-one in the dance cares as long as you come correct with your selection/mixing and ppl are moving.

When I record a mix using vinyl I feel obliged to have 'vinyl only' somewhere in the description, ,it's just one of those things I guess.

I'm surprised no one has started to argue about audio quality yet, everyone needs to step their game up.
