Re: The End of Britain
Ever read any of them long winded get rich quick scheme's promotional webpage?
This whole article reads like it.
Massive red bold headlines that pack a sensationalist punch followed by undelivered promises and winks to their for profit publication.
I'm not saying they are wrong. I AM saying take it all with a massive fist full of salt.

Re: The End of Britain
I'm sceptical about this 900% debt to gdp figure. Robert Peston and thisismoney.co.uk have it at closer to 500% (2011/12), which is still the biggest of all Western economies and on par with Japan. The 900% figure is touted mainly by less reliable sources on the web as far as I can see.
Re: The End of Britain
Stick with that, mate. We are actually working on a book right now, buy that shit if you don't want the governmentAgent 47 wrote: i tend to find what magma or axed sais to be correct

I have a sure fire way of surviving the impending global collapse, would you like me to subscribe you to my free* newsletter? Or do you want to just talk about how we're all doomed and not do anything? Surely you want to be proactive and b̶u̶y̶ p̶u̶r̶c̶h̶a̶s̶e̶ invest in my free* newsletter.Perej wrote: Yeah dooooodd everythings gonna work out dooooodd have a zoot doooood.

Re: The End of Britain
this pretty much. Those red headlines are fuckin cringeworthy too.Leave Blank wrote: I'm not saying they are wrong. I AM saying take it all with a massive fist full of salt.
If they delete the whole shit about how they're better than FT and how subscribing to them would be a life-saver, they might actually get more subscribers. This just reads more like it was written by a bunch who failed in business and now want revenge by conspiring against every business around

Ok, if we are in 'serious shit' what the fuck are you gonna do about it? Getting worked up about it helps the economy just as much as if you ignored it. If this is the end of britain, which i don't think it is, then there's nothing you can do to change it so why worry about it?Perej wrote:

Re: The End of Britain
enter recession, a result of private sector debt, not public.
fiscal policy stabilises economy, looking ok.
suddenly OMG DEBT, massive cuts in public exp.
double dip recession, uhhh i think we should probably cut spending some more (against OECD advice)
heading toward triple dip recession, uhhh uhmm well its still the right policy it'll just take longer
still convince public that cuts are supported by any sort of economic logic
