I always love it when people who haven't done ANYTHING with their craft try to tell it like it is. Who here who has doubted luck's involvement has successfully supported themselves purely on their music for 5 or more years?

If anyone wants to speak up - go ahead... there is plenty of embarrassment waiting for you.

This is not to say luck is PURELY responsible for success... but to ignore it is stupid. Don't believe me? Go ahead, I have decades of experience in multiple genres. Your reading/watching of the latest Tony Robbins chapter has no grounds.

oh just fuck off mad ep, well done for having made a career in music, it doesn't mean you're somehow better than everyone else here. The sneering superiority in all your posts is sooo annoying.

Sorry - but your argument is invalid. If you had something to say, you would say it... or you, know, back it up with actual experience.

But if random links saying inconsequential babbling makes you feel better... then go ahead.

Yes of course... because it is so much better for people who have never done *anything* to lecture those who want to do something, how they should do it... right?

...but then again, having made a career in music.. it DOES allow me the correct perspective as to how to guide those who also want a career in music. I am sure your non-career is very helpful.

... oh - and I also forgot HutyLuty - you had no problem with pimpin your tracks to me over the Summer... wanting to use me as a way to get your tracks heard.... so my question is : where does all of this hatred come form if you are so righteous?? I even played your half-ass track out of wanting to support the underground. Where do you get the moral or technical or even musical (lol) superiority to bite the hand that feeds you?

An ad-hominem is when you attack the person instead of their argument. I.e you stating your musical experience somehow making your opinion more valid in this matter, instead of focusing on a good argument.

I couldn't care any less about your background - if anything i'll do the exact opposite of what you tell me. You've been doing music for years, and i've never fucking heard of you! And from what i've heard of your music - if i'm making that shit after the same amount of time, kill me.

So not only do you not understand music - you don't understand English?

Nothing I said in your quote was an attack. The whole thread is about the difficulties of getting signed vs. making good music. Seeing that I have ticked BOTH boxes, i am qualifed to speak about it ... and (f*** you - not just me that says it, but you know - people like John Peel say it too ... so go ahead and call John Peel names... if you had balls, I would dare you).

Do the opposite of what I tell you and you will continue to make the same psuedo-dub-trance that you have always made and it will always be terrible.

Of course someone with experience in music has something to offer when talking about stuff like this but that doesn't mean others' opinions shouldn't count for anything or that they're embarrassing themselves when making some input does it? If you are so confident in what you're asserting (and I'm not saying that it's right or wrong) you don't need to back it up with telling everyone how wonderful you are, dispensing advice from on high to us mere mortals; just tell people what you think and let your argument stand on its own two feet rather than arbitrarily dismissing those who haven't been quite as successful as you.

I have actually called you on this before, you just didn't notice: when I sarcastically told you how in awe we all were of your wonderful music career, your frankly enormous ego took me seriously and listed off a load of your achievements  .

Thanks for playing my half-ass track though, that was a big breakthrough for me, I'm so happy someone with your godlike production skills would stoop so low as to play a tune by someone like me, someone without decades of experience in multiple genres, not a classical cellist or with a show on Sub FM, I should really just prostrate myself and kiss your feet, like you seem to expect everyone to on this forum.

No, you don't understand Ad Hominem. The word "attack" is not taken literally as you mean it. It means your argument is based on your opponents qualities as opposed to what they're actually saying.

Honestly i don't even know why i'm arguing this, it's rudimentary.

Anyhow, last time you got sand in your vagina, you said you wouldn't be coming back to the forum. Yet you've reared your ugly head once again just to spout some more of your foul nonsense.
