Of course someone with experience in music has something to offer when talking about stuff like this but that doesn't mean others' opinions shouldn't count for anything or that they're embarrassing themselves when making some input does it? If you are so confident in what you're asserting (and I'm not saying that it's right or wrong) you don't need to back it up with telling everyone how wonderful you are, dispensing advice from on high to us mere mortals; just tell people what you think and let your argument stand on its own two feet rather than arbitrarily dismissing those who haven't been quite as successful as you.
