I can't believe the speeds and prices being discussed in here.

I'm currently paying about £65 a month for a 2mb uncapped line.

I live in a city ffs.
Our top connections here range from 20-40mb.
And you pay out of your ass for it.
I can go for 2,4 or 10.
Everything else is too expensive.
I'm talking £300 a month.

Yeah, Virgin media is a sick Internet service, although over the past few months I haven't been able to game online due to my ping just spiking to ridiculous levels, no idea why. Everything else like streaming and downloading is smooth :?

Nope, not since this problem started anyway, router's probably about a year or so old.

Just randomly one day my ping started to spike when gaming, talking like 900ms at points, happens on uk servers as well

fuck lol, i mean a third party (non virgin supplied) one, worth doing. I doubt that's it but you should anyway. If you want to keep the virgin one, flash it with better firmware. Have you forwarded the ports for gaming?

It's true.
And to make it worse, I have to pay for a land line telephone rental on top of my adsl rental just because there's only one terrestrial provider.
And they force you to take a land line despite the fact that no-one uses it.
Everyone uses cellular now.
You get multiple isps but they all use the same source which is Telkom.
Telkom forces landlines regardless.

They charge me £15pm just for the f-ing land line.
