Going to see V∞redoms in a few weeks
Should be onto a winner - maddest live band I ever did see. Seem to remember Eye standing on a chair singing into a toy microphone and one drummer playing a toy drum kit in the mosh pit from many moons ago :D
Hmm....

some classic stuff:

BITCH MAGNET - kick out the jams, pre-Seam Soo Young Park, slight metal influence post-hardcore from the late 80's/early 90's. Ben Hur was a nice release

SQUIRREL BAIT .. nuff said, see Bastro as well

and yeah, very much prefer diggin up old stuff to listen to today, compared to new shit kicking about, such as bands like Squirrel Bait.

Lots of ideas to load up the player with huH?

yes, big Rodan fan here, and early June of 44, etc. Good stuff. Got the chance to see June of 44 years back in a tiny all ages space in Vancouver.

State Route 522, another decent band from Seattle back in the day. Kind of obscure, to anyone that didnt' live in the area. They have a retrospective cd out, nice to hear that stuff again.

Any Born Against fans here? Universal Order of Armaggedon, and then The Great Unravelling, were the other related bands. not to mention Moss Icon, Men's Recovery Project, amongst others.

Behead The Prophet N.L.S.L ? More dope pacific nw stuff, killer.

THE PEECHEES? top band too.

rites of sprong are amazing! any pictures?

the whole revolution summer scene is the only "emo" i really listen to. (i use emo in inverted commas as think the term is a bit shit. ian mackayes views on the subject are spot on.)

listened to los crudos earlier on, raaaaging.

On a similar tip. My fave Ian Mackaye affiliated release outside his own projects/bands. PAILHEAD, the collaboration between Al Jourgensen of Ministry, with Ian on vocals, circa 1988 via WaxTrax. A great listen. If you've never checked it out, the result was very Killing Joke in places. I first heard it in a skate boarding video back then. Was mind blowing then, and still is now. Like i said, a long time fave.

been collectiing punk and hardcore for over 20 years, I write for maximumrocknroll magazine - been in punk and hardcore bands over the years too (currently the young offenders in SF)..... can't believe Bob Tilton came up ...used to play with them back in the early 90s (I was in a band called Nerves). Im pretty much into everything from the 70's thru to today - power pop to hardcore to crust. From Void to Blitz to Adverts to Tragedy to Totalitar to Tranzmittors to Marked Men to Gang of four. I dig a lot of late 80-s UK indie like the wedding present too, lots of stoner shit as well as some of the new psych stoner stuff like wooden sjhips and explosions...all kinds. Been listening to electronic music for years, esp techno as well as dub and reggae - dubstep blew me socks off off...even got me out buying a pair of decks after 10 years!!

^^ how long have you written for MRR? That's cool. Haven't peeped an issue for a bit, but was a semi-regular reader for a bit as well. Newsprint or bust huh? heh.

Selections i've been rockin in the past couple weeks, seriously went digging for the Pegboy stuff, LOVED these albums when they first came out, which might say abit about my age heh. Chicago greats - original Naked Raygun mon John Haggerty, & Steve Albini even played bass for one of their earliest releases. Albini playing poppy punk? Wtf? heh. Classic stuff, you should own.
