someone should make the ultimate counter productive club night somewhere, just to get all the steam out...like an underground music The Purge

A big bill with DJs who all hate each other, like Zomby (obviously) right before Hudson Mohawke, Zomboy, Scuba and Evian Christ. Mason playing a hard bassline set right after Etch. Moby is right after Borgore, so they can argue about sexism. The aggiest bouncers in the world, and all the ket being sold in and around the venue is cut with PCP. Have the venue be a shit club with narrow spaces and too many stairs going to various levels.

FB and twitter tend to be your established fan base, harder to make new fans on there. Whereas there's a massive pool of potential fans here that might not know about them.
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

someone should book all the 130 scene and then when they get there we lock the doors and take bids on how much each dsf user would pay to beat them up

i think you're trying too hard to make this place like it used to be when it's not. bigger producers who still go on here only post links to buy their shit or an occasional night. that's it. not engaging or contributing with anything. they can do that on any other social media platform. it's not a loss if they don't post here.
older heads, like gareth said, don't need this place or even dubstep anymore.
general is a wasteland. and when it does get a bit of activity you get all pissy cause it's too negative and it's pushing people away cause some dude couldn't take people not dick riding him

and where do you draw the line on what is rude/snide w/e? can i post about a tune saying it's shit without writing an articulate half page essay on why i don't like it or will that get deleted cause it's bringing the place down ?

I still love dubstep, dunno about 130.
Just biding my time on here with a few steppas, a few more that wish they had been & the few producers that still dig dubstep
while awaiting new seasons of producers to freshen up the scene.

I say welcome to the occasional name that comes on to dispute our opinions,
which often are contentious, subjective and missing perspective.
Even more welcome the few names who come on to appreciate our interest in their work & respect our forking out our hard-earned on their creations
but, unfortunately, a lot of guys who have made good dubstep can't handle the banter of their peers & the hoi polloi anymore.
Their loss I reckon. Must be boring just talking to fans.

@Pete: Just got the confirmation; so nothing is set yet. First night will probably be high-profile locals only in order to have them tell their friends and draw a lot of people who don't follow our drum'n'bass night (since our current promotion channels are all more or less directed at dnb heads). No point in wasting a large amount of $ on the first edition of a new series imho; better to have a good first night where most people know eachother through a friend's friend. Always good vibes. Later on it'll be a question of budget and depends on how well the night's been received by the audience.

Either that, or they can't handle somebody that somebody who owns 4 of 5 releases on their label doesn't really like the 5th.

Defo is off-putting.
not what happened at all?

sorry for singling you out but christ, don't come into a thread admitting that u have no idea what's going on then proceed to bait out someone. nagl.

I was talking about Soundman Chronicles. ;)
[+] Spoiler
jrkhnds wrote:not sold on the new rabit bit yet. I've only heard the 1minute clips up on redeye though.

'Send' doesn't sound too appealing, but there's nothing challenging me, either. too much silence, too much grime / wardub / send chitchat. not something I'd enjoy listening to, and definitely not something I'd play out, either - so what would be my purpose for this track? granted, the sample provided does hint at some more interesting things happening later on. not all hope is lost.
'Atacama Skeleton' is... well, grime. cool. the flow is consciously broken. why? not exactly doing anything new or exciting, no real athmosphere to speak of, and again, not danceable either. reminds me of Night Slugs material, but with a lack of energy. in my opinion the weakest cut.
'Sun God' does things considerably better. even after a minute, there's something going on. details appear and disappear, a drone becomes a flute, morphs into resonating crystal glass... yeah I want to hear this in full.
'Yellow Haze'. as with 'Atacama Skeleton', no real flow to get my vibe going. Pulse #3023897.

I just don't get it. not trying to badmouth this stuff; to each their own and much respect to Rabit and Soundman Chronicles/Parris for doing what they're doing, I got 'nuff love for these guys and generally like the music they're pushing. but this time... could someone who's feeling try to explain why? or what they like about it? out of interest.

sorry if I offended anyone. blame it on my english skills, please.
