Tayo already pushed the dubstep (Skream, Mystikz, Benga and more featured) on Fabriclive cd... You all been sleeping or what?

Big to get the release but I can't see myself putting it on repeat constantly, not enough diversity as has been said. It's the dubstep equivalent of jump up dnb.

EDIT: nice to see more DJs get compilations as well because it would've been easier and less risky for fabri to just get Skream or DMZ to mix it.

Funny that the jump up influenced dubstep has taken over dubstep raves in just the same way Clipz, Hazard et al have taken over dnb raves.

Like it or not that style is obviously some sort of golden formula for popularity in clubs (especially crossover).

Jump up dubstep hasnt taken over dubstep raves....I have heard a mere...5 tracks or so that have the off key jump up feel..

Depends what DJ's you follow I guess

i really like the set list but agree that it does seem almost one sided. do fabric direct their live mixes or give the artist restrictions/guidlines? also would unreleased tunes not lined up for a label by other artists be a problem for inclusion?

i love the metal tins these come in except they dont fit in my cd rack

The whole point of the fabriclive series is to represent a set by the artist(s) who do the cd. I agree this is a bit one sided but these are the tunes banton and caspa play in their sets, and it was totally up to them what tracks they put on the cd. They wanted to put someother tunes in there but couldn't get the licences in time, so i think given the time they had to do it they done a bloody good job!
Big ups to the boys for getting the gig!

Really though the best part of the whole thing is the press shots! Ruskie banton with a decent haircut!! I nearly shit when i saw them

I don't know about dubstep but yes in d&b it's HUUUUGELY popular.

It's simple & catchy and those that rave to it wanna just go to a club on a Saturday night pop some pills and brock the fuck out to something that makes em forget about the week of work they've just had and the week of work that's ahead of them (or the stresses of signing on the dole)

To be blunt it works and a lot of ppl like it.

spot on mate! i think if they wanted a diverse selection they should of just picked tunes at random and i asked 'DJ Jim Bob' to mix them.

the whole point of the fabriclive series is that you play the set you would play at a dance.
