i'd buy a house so i never have to worry about rent or a mortgage then just carry on as normal except with a bit more pocket change :D

you wouldn't exactly be living the high life on the interest from a million quid

Halifax guarantees you 5.57% AER/6.00% gross on the site, let's say 5.5% Net. 5.5% of a million is £55,000 a year. There will be tax on top of that but not nearly as much as income tax. So it's not a playboy lifestyle, but it's definitely comfortable. And you're forgetting that I'll never work again.

Then I watch the money come in from the album and the novel I've been meaning to write but can never find the time for. I don't even have to worry if they flop or not :D

Oh and that's high street rates. A million means you can afford better banks.

Edit: Jesus, I really am single.

I'd use it as part of my savings for a house. Currently, there is nowhere in my neighbourhood less than than 3 mill.

see, this is what i worry about with new zealand ... at my age and stage in life, even though i make a good living, i cannot reasonably envisage ever being able to own property in this country, it's skyrocketing.

:(

Probably look for a good, solid business and invest in that, and then just live off the income from that, then hopefully be able to ponder quite how I'd spend £5 million in a few years time.
Hmm....

Well the first time I get the money I'd get fucking wasted and take my mates to Monaco for the weekend and get some well nice hookers and have a nice little lay.

Then buy a house and probably pay of the families mortgages and give em a few quid, then stick the rest in the bank...

More speakers. Loads more. And vans to drive them around. And a massive generator.
