It's all down to the quality of tea. You should get about ten cups of tea out of a small piece of Pu erh tea. The flavour changes with each infusion as well, actually getting stronger towards the middle.
Here's what the tea looks like when i buy it and how you have to break it up. A world away from a Tetley teabag http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=th86Ge4f ... re=related

It's all a bit geeky but when i gave up smoking weed i had to replace it with something. :D

I've never wanted a cup of tea more in my life. Shame it's going to have to be floor sweepings.

If you want to get a taster for quality tea i would highly recommend this site on ebay http://stores.ebay.com/Yunnan-Sourcing-LLC The guy is very reliable and the Tea is of exceptional quality. Quite cheap compared to alot of stores as well. I suggest buying a cake of raw Ripe Pu-erh such as this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/2003-Fo-Cha-Ji-Wu-L ... dZViewItem

Or just buy a couple of samples to begin with to see if you like it.

* Note milk and sugar are a definite no no and you must use a water filter. That chlorinated rubbish in the taps ruins a Cup of Tea.

You can get teabags specifically for hard water..not sure what it is up here, although there's been a lot of it falling lately!

Think I'll make myself a nice cup of Tippy Yunnan in celebration of this thread. Might just wash the cup once though, probably under a tap and all. Poor show.
I can't stand sugar in tea, but I like milky tea too much to drink the crazy stuff all the time.

Earl Grey, although generally only after 4pm cos its quite weak and is all about the delicate taste
so its ideal for the afternoon when u just need something refreshing rather than overpowering.

when it comes to the morning u need something strong to wake you up like a nice blend of yorkshire tea
or at the moment im draining the english breakfast.

also when it comes to making tea people who just let the tea bag blend for 10 seconds are sick in the head. put you boiling water in
and let the tea bag sit for 3-5 minutes (without touching it).
then give it a stir before you take it out and always, and this is key, use the same amount of milk for every cup
cos u have to remember its the tea your tasting and not the milk!

ofcourse i have, just never really appreciated it, it was more like i feel like some tea & biscuits... unlike how i am with hot chocolate i just sometimes really kill for some of that stuff. I know some people have a passion for just a good cup of tea, i guess that's evident by how many replies there are. you learn something new everyday.. keep those video's coming...

Btw have any of you guys been served tea like in the video i think Baron posted?

all tea is waste unless it's tetley (tips will do at a stretch) brewed brick red with a dash of milk and nothing else

i can't imagine tea being a sweet drink, that's like drinking lemsip :o
