He actually hadn't funded or had anything to do with the newsletter in over 5 years when that was posted in it. He took responsibility for it, came out against it and said it was reprehensible. Based upon his writings and teachings, it's not that far of a stretch to know that isn't how he felt.UmkhontoWeSizwe wrote:Even if it wasn't written by him, if he didn't agree with it, why would he allow it to appear in his newsletter?DrQuynh wrote:Ron Paul didn't write that. That was mis-quoted as being him... here is what he ACTUALLY SAYS about racism...
I know it doesn't look good, and in politics, it's merely the appearances that count. What bothers me is that Parson is the one who posted it, he's a Kucinich supporter--Kucinich said he'd choose Ron Paul as his running mate.. he's also said he'd vote for Ron Paul if he isn't the nominee of his party himself. So did his wife.
It's his supporters that keep that up. Shameful, because he's explained it 5000 times now.
He hands them over to you. There is no such thing as a government responsibility.Parson wrote:i will never fully trust people who want to hand government responsibilities over to corporations.
First 9 Amendments of the Constitution LIMIT GOVERNMENT POWER... the 10th Amendment gives all other authority to YOU and the STATES... there's no such thing as Federal Jurisdiction in this country.
Corporations didn't even have the power that they have today until the Supreme Court said they did. A truly free market would actually give individuals the SAME RIGHTS as the corporations... meaning that I personally wield as much power by myself as News Corp as a whole, and I have rights, whereas they don't...
I understand why people misinterpret what a REAL FREE MARKET looks like--they've never seen one.

Wow, I had to sift through a lot to bump this, but still here's what happened: my artist friend Tom and I spent 9,000 miles and seven weeks following the US Presidential Election on the ground, road-tripping through 24 states of the union, hanging out with scores of real Americans, as well as POWs, Katrina survivors, vampires and Chelsea Clinton.
And now, you're all invited to the book launch!

That's tomorrow, Wed 28 May, 7pm-midnight, at The Cross Kings in (you guessed it) King's Cross.
Or if you prefer, buy a copy by reserving one online: press@myfellowamericans2008.com
Full information and glowing quotes from the writer of Peep Show here: http://www.myfellowamericans2008.com/press_release.pdf

yeah that's a weird one, we couldn't work out why it was being erratic, cos it's not like we were using much bandwidth at all.. anyway it seems to be okay now, maybe it was just hibernating cos we didn't use it so much for a month or so.jahtao wrote:not workin here geez

here's what some goddamned cool people have had to say about it already:
"A great mixture of laugh-out-loud funny and scratch-that-goatee-insightful"
Jesse Armstrong, writer of The Thick Of It and Peep Show
"I usually find politics depressing, but here's a case of seeing the American system through someone else's eyes, and being reminded that even if not in practice, the real idea behind democracy is giving a voice to everyone. With humor and charm, Dan and Tom get at what elections should really be about - the voters."
Jeffrey Brown, author of Little Things
we didn't get it over here in blighty, but my housemate, political geek that he is, torrented it - said he'd rarely watched anything so depressing. like you say, it could have done with being made before kerry vs bush.andreamia wrote:i really hope this primary bullshit is over after tonight.
did anyone catch Recount on HBO? good movie, but made about 4 years too late.
although sad to say that farenheit 9/11 did get huge exposure in the summer of 04 and failed to swing it for ol' mount-rushmore-features kerry.
was that 'live music from Plug' plug = luke vibert??mos dan wrote:Wow, I had to sift through a lot to bump this, but still here's what happened: my artist friend Tom and I spent 9,000 miles and seven weeks following the US Presidential Election on the ground, road-tripping through 24 states of the union, hanging out with scores of real Americans, as well as POWs, Katrina survivors, vampires and Chelsea Clinton.
