Computer crash in the middle of a trance set, so I grabbed the mic and started beatboxing the beat while I waited for my system to reboot.

Luckily the crowd had a sense of humor.

As it turns out, my tracklisting saves my mixes.

Dont clang much but with on 2 x decks and 2 x cd's I usually, end up taking needle off the wrong record and pretending I done it on purpose bringing next tune in !!

I suppose the overall worst DJ moment would be to clang when playing live - but thats a risk if you decide to do a mix you have never done before!

Back in my D&B days, having to deal with a very irate Shy FX because, in a very drunken blur, I lashed an entire bottle of beer over his leg. Fair to say he wasnt very happy. I wasnt left in charge of the booth after that.

awesome stories, keep em coming!

1st time I got booked for a "rave" was by Dirty (runs the Shift club night now) when I was 17 and in the middle of my set he gave me some weird hand gesture and I got all nervous and lifted the wrong needle off the record, killing the sound. I promply pointed at Dirty and played it off like he had asked me to do it. and reloaded...

Another time I did a 2x4 (yikes) with a dude that had been up all night smoking glass and had gotten drunk right before our set, as well. He had the master mixer and kept fucking up, but would point to me and shit like I was doing it. He got booted from the crew for that, I think that was his last show(2002). Horrible.

I know I have more, just cant think of them atm

not as embarrassing as it is comical..
but a club in Mpls with a full house, illegal in some regards apparently and the cops show up as the headliner is placing his third record on. the cop yells some shit that we couldnt hear over the PA and about two seconds later, backhands the tonearm, which bounces to the center, back to the resting spot and then back onto the spinning vinyl again, and the music commences.
we were still faded, wide eyed and stunned when he executed his second maneuver.. judo chop to the tonearm.

now, if they come in and bust an after party.
they pour beer/soda all over the gear.
that'l learn us!!

oh, and see Mpls. finest in action on youtube macing grandmothers at the RNC convention if your curious.

My very drunk friend managed to spill his drink over Grooverider's lap a couple of years ago. We all gasped and thought our friend would get murked but Rider was extremely cool about it.

Safe bloke :)

not realising there was a chaos pad plugged in and switched on next to my right hand turntable ready for the next man after me.

so every time i went to adjust the pitch on the deck my hand would be over the chaos pad and it would let out and unearthly distortion feedback scream.

took me about two records to figure out what was wrong.
