i knew a guy who had a bunch of scans from scientology books that he kept on his web server for us to laugh at and he was contacted by scientology lawyers and intimidated into taking them down.

they use very basic brainwashing techniques that start off with weird rituals like showing a person a stapler and telling them its a stapler, then having them acknowledge that its a stapler. then you point to the window and say that is a window and they say yes that is a window. and they just get weirder and weirder over time.

its all based on manipulation of truth though just like all religions. that is how they get and keep followers. there is weird shit going on behind the illusion and for many people to believe in an entire dogma, all they need is a glimpse and a guiding hand.

yeah i've always wanted to know how they sell Scientology to you...I mean it's pretty common knowledge that it's a cult, and that they've got some pretty mental ideas about the origins of man, and yet thousands of people gladly sign most of their possessions over to them. They must have some sick salesmen working for them.
rudeboy those scientologists are devious ya know!

fuck knows how they got me but they did. i didnt sign any shit over to them but after a "free personality test" they got me into the backroom interogating me about my life and i was telling them!!! sheez for a couple of days later i felt proper bad about my self especially as my score said i was in deep depression n shit lol.

theyre smart those stnuc i swear down - or im just a complete sucker lol

i was just bowling about central london with my mate. some big bird comes up all friendly saying "do u want to do a free personality test?" i thought why not itd be a laugh. my mate was skeptical tho... i just had to read about 150 questions asking me about thoughts n ideas n shit and tick -i feel strongly -maybe -i dont feel strongly.. and they told my mate to wait outside tho! lol

the questions just consisted of bullshit like: how do u feel about current affairs, do u believe there is an after life etc etc

they also get you because their fundamental tenets are not very different from other world religions including buddhism, hinduism, and gnosticism:

• Belief in Deity
Scientology considers the belief in a God or gods as something personal and therefore offers no specific dogma. The nature of the Supreme Being is revealed personally through each individual as s/he becomes more conscious and spiritually aware. There exists a life energy or force (Theta) beyond and within all.

• Incarnations
There are no particular human incarnations of God, as the universal life force (Theta) is inherent in all. All humans are immortal spiritual beings (thetans) capable of realizing a nearly godlike state through Scientology practices.

• Origin of Universe and Life
All is manifestation of the universal spirit, which is all that actually exists.

• After Death
Rebirths continue until one consciously confronts all pre-birth, current-life, and previous-life traumas and realizes one's true nature as a "thetan," immortal spirit--transcending matter, energy, space, and time. Achieving this state enables the spirit to escape the cycle of birth and death--to operate independently of the physical universe and become one with God.

• Why Evil?
Painful experiences and harmful acts in one's prebirth, current, and past lives become imprinted in the reactive mind and lead to irrational behavior. Departures from rational thought and untrue ideas ("aberrations") can result in wrongdoing.

• Salvation
Salvation is achieved through the practices and techniques of Scientology, the ultimate goal of which is to realize one's true nature as an immortal spirit, a thetan. The path to salvation, or enlightenment, includes achieving states of increasingly greater mental awareness--Pre-Clear, Clear, and ultimately Operating Thetan. An Operating Thetan is a spirit who can control matter, energy, space, time, thought, and life. Practitioners ("Auditors") are regarded as ministers and counselors who assist others to achieve self-enlightenment. Auditors help others to identify their prebirth, current, and past-life disturbances, which are obstacles to happiness and spiritual enlightenment.

• Undeserved Suffering
Suffering occurs as part of the spirit's entrapment here in the physical universe. Only when the individual is aware of his spiritual nature can he identify his barriers within the universe and overcome them, rising out of a lower state and into a higher state of happiness and freedom.

• Contemporary Issues
Based on the belief that you cannot free yourself spiritually without working to free others, Scientology has founded and supports many organizations for social betterment, particularly in the areas of drug abuse, crime, psychiatric abuse, government abuse of law, human rights, religious freedom, education, and morality. Scientology strongly favors the use of their methodology for spiritual/mental healing over the use of conventional treatment.

I agree with the first bit - it always has been though, and has always been run to one special interest or another, usually the wealthy and powerful. I don't know about the second bit but I think that isn't of the highest importance when you think of all the evil shit they actually do every day. I'm more concerned about carcinogens in food, sweatshops, illegal wars, and individuals owning more money than some countries and how that loads things globally than blokes in hoods talking in latin.

If the occult practise thing is the Owl ritual thing that Alex Jones was raving about, it's worth reading Jon Ronson's interpretation of events in the book "Them - Adventures with Extremists". He said that it consisted a group of blokes in their 50's or older, who just acted like frat-boys that never grew up. They basically got drunk and recited the words to the Burning of the Owl (can't quite remember what the ritual was), pissed against a tree and went back to their cars to be driven home. Quite different to Jones' version of occult orgies.
Hmm....

25.74% of Americans have Myopia. That's an even bigger number.

During the summer of 1798, Rev. G. W. Snyder, a Lutheran minister, wrote a letter to President Washington and included a copy of Robison's book, expressing his concern about the Illuminati infiltrating the American Masonic lodges. In Washington's response, dated September 25, 1798, he wrote: "I have heard much about the nefarious and dangerous plan and doctrines of the Illuminati," but went on to say that he didn't believe that they had become involved in the lodges. A subsequent letter by Snyder, requesting a more reassuring answer, resulted in a letter from Washington, dated October 24, 1798, which can be found in The Writings of George Washington (volume 20, page 518, which was prepared under the direction of the U.S. George Washington Bicentennial Commission and published by the U.S. Government Printing Office in 1941). He wrote:

"It was not my intention to doubt that the doctrines of the Illuminati and the principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am. The idea I meant to convey, was, that I did not believe that the lodges of Freemasons in this country had, as societies, endeavored to propagate the diabolical tenets of the first, or pernicious principles of the latter. That individuals of them may have done it, or that the founder or instruments employed to have found the democratic societies in the United States may have had this object, and actually had a separation of the people from their government in view, is too evident to be questioned."

Shortly before his death, Washington issued two more warnings about the Illuminati.
