Frank Lloyd Wrights "Falling Water"
2562, HeadHunter & Martyn, A timeless piece of architecture. The opening of a new chapter in dubstep.

Image
Fallingwater opened a new chapter in American architecture, and is perhaps rightly considered Wright's greatest work, for he was first and foremost an architect of houses. In its careful yet startling integration of stone walls anchored to the bedrock and modern reinforced concrete terraces hovering in space, Connors states that Fallingwater may be understood as 'one of the great critiques of the modern movement in architecture, and simultaneously one of its masterpieces'. Yet we cannot help feeling that there is more to this design than even that; this is an architecture that seizes our imagination, letting us see space and habitation in ways that seem new, but which we simultaneously feel to be ancient, somehow fundamental to our human nature.

^^yeah thats a stunning bit of construction there.

Did you also know a 'falling water' is NZ's closest thing to a cocktail invented here ?

Fill a tall glass with ice, add two parts 42below feijoa vodka and top up with Ch'i mineral water. Garnish with cucumber...Mmmmmmmmmyum !

of course you did

Falling Water's ok.. not the best FLW building though. Supposedly he designed it in an afternoon cos the client rang him to say he was driving across the country to see the progress. At which point he hadn't drawn anything! Joker. I'm amazed it's so highly regarded though, i love the setting but the rendering makes me think of a 70s car park. And it kinda looks like a Bond Villain hideout.

Prefer his studio Taliesan West, still quite secret-lairesque but really pretty

^^WOW :o ...just fucking wow :!: i don't think theres a dubstep artist worthy of those buildings yet.

Falling water looks way better from the outside than in. Inside it looks like the brady bunch's weekend getaway.

I do hope those are old photos and someone has post modernised it.

^^haha...I think theres a reality show in that. Architectural makeovers of iconic american buildings by crowbar wielding brit homophobe.. And make it guerilla styles under the dead of night. All put to a dubstep soundtrak and each episode directed by a different star director. I'd get chris cunningham to do over falling water.
