Heavyheavyheavy night. So much goodness. Was mighty satisfied that I managed to spend nearly the whole night on the dancefloor for a change. Out to all the crew reppin the far left speaker, it was a mighty sound indeed.
Was also the perfect turnout imo, not so rammed that you can barly lift your arms above your waist but also not so sparse as to detract from the atmosphere, felt proper cozy.
The latter part of Benny ill's set! Farkin 'ell, droppin Lost City and Jungle Infiltrator and Horror Show got me so ready for the night ahead (my days Horror Show sounded so sick, out to Mala crankin up the bass for that one).
Conserved my strength during the D1 and just treated myself to a bass massage on the sofas.
Mystikz set killed it as ever, so many sick tunes I have a hard time remembering them, though i remember Loefah droppin some new bits i'd never heard and givin Warning and Ganja a good rinse. The GT Sandsnake remix is a beast as well, the second drop was deserving of the pullups. Best tune of the set though has to be the Mala one that's been around for a bit and was played durin the latter stages of the set, proper pumpin rhythm with a bit of a Left Leg Out vibe (ID anyone?).
Quest and Silkie, seriously, props to these guys. Their vibes are inventing new ways to dance, I found myself shocking out in ways which I had no idea existed. There was one tune in particular that amazed me, I think it was played before the Broken Heart remix, proper progression business. Also the tune they played towards the end that's been around for a while with the sexy long intro was too nice (heard it first played by Mala a fair while back).
Oney smacked it back to back to back, such a good varied selection throughout the set (Neverland played for the second time in a night...what's the world coming to
)
Big ups to everyone i chatted to/met for the first time. It was special, one of the best DMZ's since, well, last year's summer blazedown.
To the brixton afterparty crew, sorry i didnt stick around. As much as I wanted to see Markle degenerate further and see Poax with a scatch racket/mit attached to his head I had one of those 'look around the room and realise this is not where you want to be at 6am' moments and just splurted home....at which point i possibly avoided getting jacked by a couplea rudeboys starting on someone up just ahead of me for no reason (i crossed the road and made a dash for the tube).
Oh, and anyone who's heard the rumours about Badger giving gunfingers to the eye, it's TRUE!!! Twice I was intentionally given the retinal poke. Thankfully instant karma gave me revenge against him as in the midst of a ferocious skank my flailing hands caught him in the face. Twice.

Take thy thoughts to bed with thee, for the morning is wiser than the evening.Slothrop wrote:well, the bass is interesting but the post-hegemoniacal rhythmic interventionism of the cowbell part is overly redolent of paleospheric neo-step

I think this is the one i was thinkin of, it had a mad rhythm breakdown every 20 seconds or so. Proper screwface number.Corpsey wrote:Stand was after Broken Heart RMX, the tune before BHRMX was incredible too.Djslate wrote:'Stand' I reckon, I was nearly crying when this was on.DJ Sinc Vision wrote:There was one tune in particular that amazed me, I think it was played before the Broken Heart remix, proper progression business.
edit: the one before broken heart that is.

Basically I just link this mix to everyone, but the tune you're on about has to be on it. Even still you can listen to 'Stand' again.
