an as someone else pointed out drama threads are bit more entertaining within reason. i enjoy forums & internet more when shit aint taken so seriously all the time

ah yes, nesslei. if you have a gripe, you MUST just be "moaning". there is NOTHING hateful or derogatory in this thread. it's all in your head. [/sarcasm]
[sarcasm] Honestly I don't know how you headstrong ladies have the time to gripe about this. Don't you have washing to do, buttons to sew on, children to clean, and dinners to make?! I can't be bothered to think for myself--thats why I'm hoping some man takes pity on me and marries me so he can tell me what to think and what to feel. All I need to hear is that I'm pretty. he didn't insult women he just said they're a headfuck, which i'm sure you all agree can be true some of the time. and obviously men can do exactly the same. even then he said some women so it wasn't a blanket insult of all women and wasn't using a sweeping statement to tar you all with the same brush

and how has him saying that ended up with that comment suggesting all women should be a perfect wifey and stay at home and have no opinions?

now i agree the original post was unnecessary and doesn't really have a place on this forum but i really can't fathom how it's resulted in this response

well unfortunately my snarky tone of voice doesn't translate well on a forum. hence the sarcasm tag.

Its ended up with that response because every time one of the ladies looks at her screen, FUCKING WOMEN comes up, which is an insult before you even look into the thread.

If you have a lamentation about a certain woman, fine. But if you're gonna be brazen enough to slander an entire gender so that each time anyone looks, thats whats seen, then thats where the insult comes.

I don't think you understand how much women overlook just being here. There is an entire thread devoted to the depreciation of women, no matter how its entitled. Posting an innocuous picture leaves women prey to criticism, judgment, and devaluation; which is largely overlooked. We overlook all the comments that our fellow ninjas make reducing women to basically pockets for cocks. Insulted on intelligence and appearance on a regular basis that are strictly, though subtle to men, focused towards women.

And you don't even have to read the thread to get the insult. So instructing people "Don't read it if you don't wanna deal" doesn't even apply.

I can call a thread LITTLE DICK BROKE ASS MOTHERFUCKERS and on the inside say, "Oh not you ninjas though." Whether or not you choose read the thread, any time you wanna check on potatoes or footie or what people are doing at that point in time, thats what you see.

And I don't understand that reaction, tbh. So many people grief about the inability to say what they feel because feelings get hurt. Equally so are the joys expressed in watching drama.

You agree that the title is off but not enough to fix. That leaves the participants to police themselves. So we are.

So why is it that when all of that results in a vehement response, there is too much? Where's the equality in that?

Oh ffs, it appeared to me to be a slightly tongue in cheek (see the '!') post in regards to something that had happened to the original poster.

It is really not worth the avalanche of words.

How so? Surely reacting like you have indicates a victim mentality? He wasn't even talking about you and yet you have wasted > 1,000 words on it.

i haven't wasted one word. I don't base the value of what I say on what you think of it. And defending is being a victim? You're hilarious. So don't say anything. Keep your mouth shut. Is that it? Is that the only way to not be a victim to you?

Fighting back is a way to not be a victim. Honestly, I think you're completely confused on what it means to be a victim. To take something for the sake of quiet is being a victim. To stand up for something you believe makes you strong and courageous. How do you get them confused?
You just don't get it. Again.

this is all being taken rather seriously, and the hot-girl appreciation thread is and appreciation thread (tho I have to admit some do get derogatory which spoils it but I see it mostly as a celebration of the womanly form). don't think you would have many people complaining if you made a thread entitled Men are pricks, in-fact it is a statement that I have seen bounded about a bit previously. It is something that happens quite naturally when someone has pissed you off and you don't understand them...I would be surprised if bellybelle or nesslie havn't used such sweeping remarks before, or even recently, correct me if I am wrong.

however mods should be on the name change if this is upsetting people, as it clearly is, hope to it badger/corpsey this mod business aint all fun and games and horse prejudice and power trippin.

i don't quite get what you think you're defending? all this stems from the thread title which the poster probably didn't put a lot of thought into and didn't realise it would end up in these kinds of ridiculous responses

i'm all for equal oppurtunities for women but militant feminism (which thankfully seems to mostly belong to an older generation and fading out) does nothing to further the cause, in fact it does the exact opposite. fighting against an oppressor which in this case doesn't exist (but of course unfortunately it still does in other areas) and acting like a victim when you aren't one isn't exactly helping the feminist cause

Oh no eLBe you're absolutely right. But...the thing is, if I know its offending a group of people and that wasn't my intention, I do my part to clarify.

Thing is this. Women overlook a lot being here. A lot. If you guys are uncomfortable with the levels, imagine how we're feeling. Now we don't say anything most of the time. But in a thread that has basically caused most of the female ninjas who regularly post here to be pissed off about it, something should be taken into consideration. Being told its not that serious when how many ladies have been provoked by it is not the one. And I think the dismissal at this point is pretty insulting.

trouble is badger that sexism has been around for a long long time, it is innate it almost all cultures, include ours, it is still there whether you see it or not and often militant feminism is only seen as militant because it points out sexism in places where people like you and me think there are none, it makes you feel uncomfortable that you do not see the sexism, it highlights you own failing which often leads to rejection.

if this is about equal opportunities, then a woman has the right to stand up and say when something isn't cool, right?

How is this militant feminism? Because one thread is getting the ladies in here pissed off enough to speak about it? So if we're mad about something, we should just shut the fuck up like we usually do?

You have the ability to change the title. You admit the title is in poor taste and yet no fix even though its peeved the women. So....whats the solution? We complain and get dismissed or shut up and get insulted. I don't understand how this is that much of a stronghold.

i agree but this thread is just a fucking joke now. all this is based upon is the thread title which i'm sure wasn't intending to cause offense as shown by the content of the post. i fully agree with the comments about the hot girl thread though as i think the same. some of the juvenile comments in there make me embarassed to share a gender with certain people

at the name change, tho I could see this leading to more problems, that is very dismissive of the discussion we are having here.

if you too the oppurtunity to step back from the keyboard you might notice i changed it about 5 minutes ago

if you want to complain then of course that's fine but the initial complaint which is justified has just got blown all out of proportion
