I dont need one, but im far more creative!
And the best i do is to enjoy/produce music while z00tin!
But im far productive when im sober, though those super creative moments dont come ALL the time, a zoot can always help! Just cant afford it haha!
So, i dont need to!
But i try to use the tool carefully when i got it!

I never heard zoot before either, but in Canada, at least out west we call a toke a hoot...so I lust assumed zoot was the same sorta thing.
Or maybe zooms which are shrooms, but no.
As far as producing I find if I smoke first then try to create I just do a lot of starring or aimlessly tweaking knobs thinking that sounds cool. But if I wait until my song has some direction and smoke it definitely helps.

Amen to this.Whineo wrote:im far more productive when sober
although getting caned and then listening to you tunes can really help you listen to them as music without analysing your own production techniques
I have to agree that being in tune with a good blaze is helpful to lay down a prominent beat, but anything with precision just gets too hard to keep track of. Better yet if a tune or line sounds dope when sober its going to be more expansive when your consciousness is in clouds.

Left brain unfurls its even constraints with ol' logical righty, leading to "O LAWD" perception. This is when I notice everything that is latent.

none of my brit friends smoke blunts, and they all roll their joints with tobacco, which is blasphemy if you have really good quality grass.Sofa_King wrote:Q: Do Brits smoke blunts?
do i *need* it to produce? fuck no. but sometimes it's more fun. that's how i got into it in the first place. getting really high and just getting lost in the sounds and making sounds.

yeah, it does help you conserve, but ruins the flavor.. glass pipes are always best if you want to actually taste it, plus they get you way higher with less provided they are clean pipes. and i don't know, if i pay a lot of money for some really quality herb i definitely want to taste it. flavor country. it's a big country.Sofa_King wrote:Not to get too off track (it is a thread about weed), but if you have good weed, isn't it BETTER to roll with tobacco? Like so it burns slower/less wasted. I love a good spliff better than a straight up J but I hear you.
Now back to the music.
i've made some really fun psychedelic landscapes with just one synth while really high. then later, when i'm sober, i'll go back and layer some really tech beats and bass over it. works out nicely.

i didn't want to read this.
i had the same problem when i was a graphic designer... now i work with people all day and i love making tunes. i agree it's hard to concentrate and enjoy your comp when you spent all day hating it and wanting to get away. i'm currently in the market for another graphic design job.
good points raised, but now i think i'm in a dilemma

you know, i am often in the same boat, as a graphics/web designer. sometimes it's hard to work when you a) are on the computer ALL the time and b) really high.. the combination of all those things can really work against you.
one thing i did to help this out was, for a while, i would only smoke when i was outdoors. that was the rule. so i would at LEAST get outside for a bit and be around birds and trees and things.
i found this to be pretty good for inspiration too.
