Roska is the man. 2009 is already his. I did a funky mix with a few of his bits on. Get it over here: http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=70054

Someone was complaining about Gone to a Better Place the other day, and while I can't remember their specific criticism, they are clearly fools.
He is killing it at the moment I reckon, just a shame he doesn't play out. Not that he would be playing in Edinburgh anyway, but whatever.

Jackmaster: how about you guys book Marcus Nasty for Numbers / Ballers / whatever and I'll give you mad props. Both internet props and actual real world ones.

yeh, he's one of the top producers. Big up Roska.
it's good to hear he has a show on Rinse. Unfortunately podcasts have died out again...

Really? Isn't it a little early to be making comparisons like that? There's a lot of producers who have shown a little bit of promise (Lil Silva, Cooly G, D Malice, HH Banton and others) but its difficult to say right now, on the basis of a handful of tracks for each, how they're gonna develop.

Everything Roska's put out so far has been pretty consistently sick. And its wicked that he's organised enough to have already put out three (or is it four?) 12"s with another dropping in the next month. But, I reckon its too soon to compare him to someone like Mala

I just feel that, right now, Funky's so fresh that everything's still up in the air and still a bit difficult to discern exactly where all the pieces are gonna land. That, to be fair, is what makes it so exciting.

yeh i agree

massive respect to Roska but i don't think the analogy fits at all

funky and dubstep are and will be different things, and i don't think its worthwhile or at all a good thing to try to push funky into a dubstep shaped gap
