maybe "best DJ" has more to do with consistency, presence in music, big bookings and general popularity for a year's time than some quantifiable level of technical skill - if a magazine is giving the award obviously its judged on a set of criteria that is different than DMC or wherever DJs get together to pat each other on the back.

big up everyone who's steady entertaining the common folk.

I heard him rewind 6 tunes in a row. That is a little much for me. I want to hear the song and get down to it. The rewind fucks it all.

lol come on man, that just sounds snobbish.

he is a good dj. he mite not be the BEST technically, but his selection is sick and his mixing is good.

i could sit and nit pick and name dj's who are better mixers, but he is good enough of an all round dj. he deserves the award.
It's not being snobbish at all. I just think that the BEST DJ should get the best dj award. I am sure there are plenty of djs who have just as good of selection, better mixing and great technacality. maybe they should get the awrad. LOL and to me "good enough" does not equal THE BEST!

not in England but in the US, yea.

Why do djs usually rewind multiple songs in a row over there?

Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Awards are validation that some people who read some mag or something clicked some button on some website somewhere or something. If we can't hold values like that sacred then what the fuck are we? ANIMALS THATS WHAT! If we don't all stick together on points like this then we'll be shitting in the streets, clawing the bottoms of curtains and getting neutered by our owners. You may want to paraded around your local park on a tartan leash, only let off to chase the occasional tennis ball or stick but I AM A MAN, A HU-MAN and I have a point.

AND WHAT DO POINTS MEAN? POINTS MEAN PRIZES.

Big up Skream, gwan the Brucie bonus.

ye maybe they shud of won it..

but they didnt and he did, so i think u shud give props where there due.

corse by definition the person who wins the award should be the absolute best, but its subjective. i dont even think most the dj's that people would consider THE BEST were even entered in the poll options anyways.

Rewinds are another technique used by dubstep DJs. If a song seems to be especially popular, the DJ will 'spin back' the record by hand without lifting the stylus, and play the track in question again. Rewinds are also an important live element in many of dubstep's precursors; the technique originates in dub reggae soundsystems, and is also used at UK garage and jungle nights.

This thread is only 3 pages in and it's already fallen into the same old formula.

Of which I am now a part.
