How can that be a sweeping statement?

People have played me IDM over the last 10 years.

I have heard virtually NOTHING that sounds like it has moved on it that time. Thats not sweeping. Thats fact. Thats what I've heard. I'm not saying it hasn't moved on, but no-one's shown me any proof that it has.
