What does everyone think of the idea of along with the mix, an unmixed version is offered (up to the digression of the artist & person hosting the mix), and in the track listing for this unmixed version could be a link of where to find the authors other works?
eg.
Tracklist
1.) Title - Artist - Time
Myspace or Virb etc...
2.) Title - Artist - Time
Myspa...

I agree with JohnnyJohnny Beat wrote:Blah, don't like that. Twenty people woing one mix makes it sound unflowing imo.Deadly Habit wrote:we could do it like we did a couple multi user mixes on doa assuming most people have some sort of digital option
say mix 3 tunes per person let last on play to end and next person mixes from there
too many cooks working on the same dish
I'm cool with Mr. Jolly Wailer collecting all the tunes, sending them to myself & kidlogic and leaving it up to he & I to turn out something quality

Since Kid and/or FSTZ are doing it, can I just tell them what tune I want them to use? Since they have most of mine

edit: double post.
I guess I was thinking this project would be about getting people to make a new tune for the explicit purpose of the mixtape rather than rounding up old dubs
the drop box is safe. I'm cool.

guess I'm just saying. there has to be some kinda structure.
if some people are sending me tracks, and some people only wanna send FSTZ or kidlogic tracks it fucks up the system.
lets do something we can all agree upon and everyone has to do it that way if they want in.

yeah i reckon we all just put the tunes in your dropbox, adding mine now (finished today) and will work on one or two more. Any idea how long till the mix starts getting made?Jolly Wailer wrote:guess I'm just saying. there has to be some kinda structure.

It'd be nice to get a mix out by New Year's .. but I don't know what people's holiday schedules are like.
Also, if the submission time goes too long perhaps interest will wane out? On the other hand, if it's too short not enough people might even know about this project yet?
IMO tracks will be received up until Christmas (?) - and then I'll take all the dubs in the dropbox to that point and send 'em over to be selected and mixed, and then we wait patiently..
All tracks received and sent will be documented and posted later on in the thread.
