same here tbh, a mate popped round while i was working on a minimal prodigy remix. upon hearing the drop he lay down and started miming shooting up smack - im guessing he found it pretty dark.

Been samplin' some female vocalists. Shit has been going swimmingly thus far. I don't really give a fuck about my beats. :|

i just dont wanna become a caspa/rusko bassline recycler.

anyone??
heh i learn alot by emulating popular sounding dubstep, but i prefer to make tunes like my influences
venetian snares, aphex, alec empire and go the unique idm route

minimal, and hailing back to older tech step, like what deadly habit said. It's all about getting as few elements in a mix as possible that stand on their own and make the listener stare at the speaker in awe (while uncontrollably dancing/swiveling/tapping their feet)...

trying to make a song that doesn't loop and repeat often, but i keep habitualy looping it for ease and groove, so it's pissing me off.

It's always something different. I try to write a dark tune and it comes out mellow. I try to write something more chill and it ends up dark lord supreme. I love my ring modulator though.

I'm on my own thing as usual. No deep in the ocean shit, no ultra wub, no metal step just good old fashioned dirty bass line rollers, slightly breaky, dancefloorable stuff. Got some technoey stuff too. Been making a point to learn knew techniques and tricks while I am at it.
