The hardest thing I've found with quitting the cigs is resisting the urge when you drink. Apparently it's because alcohol lowers your heartrate, and your body remembers that nicotine raises it.* I've got round that by giving up the booze as well but I doubt you'd be up for that
*this may be absolute bollocks
I'll have to agree on that.. I don't know if that is the real reason.. I guess it might also have to do with conditioning..
So far I've managed to go 2 full weeknds of drinking with out smoking, so I guess I'm ok now..
When I gave up alcohol for a bit last year I found that the hardest thing is to keep your hands busy on a night out.. that is if you don't smoke..
I mean you can drink 10 pints of beer, but have you ever tried drinking the same amount of coke or anything similar.. that just doesn't work

It does work out.
Considering I don't really need the urge to drink, it would be hard to drink 10 pints of fizzy drinks. And I drink A LOT of fizzy drinks, so take it from me.

Sounds like it tbh, your body has got a lot of ways of raising your heart rate without resorting to cigarettes. Although they will raise your heart rate.
It is odd though, because i know people who would never smoke sober, but end up looking like the smoke monster from Lost by the end of the night after they have had a few.
Kudos on giving up drink btw PK, i've pretty much never really drunk, but damn it can get boring when everybody else is drunk and you are the one sober guy picking up the mess (or not as i tend to do these days).
Also weed smokers should bear in mind that it is worse for your lungs than tobacco

I've gone 5 days without a cigerette. I have been smoking jambas constantly. Today was the real test with being at work but I've managed ok. Time for that lunch time doob on the park.

deams that looks painful!! best of luck anyway matey, i'm trying to give up the weed myself now, almost every time i smoke it i now regret it as i end up getting really paranoid, and i now freak out about loads of stuff in everyday life (about really ridiculous stuff as well - when i lock the door on my house, i start worrying that it might somehow break whilst i'm out, then i won't be able to get back in when i come home, and will have to spend the night sleeping on the doorstep, as well as your more regular paranoia like thinking everyone is laughing/looking at you) and getting really claustrophobic, can't stand being in a lift etc.
anyway, i digress, best of luck to you mate, if i think of any good giving up tips i'll pass them on to you
