what synth are you using for your sub? i'd love to get my pitch bend on the attacks sounding a bit more 808y with z3ta but haven't got the balls to use 808 samples because you can't tune the fucking things!

its been said before try lengthening the attack on z3ta and use the attack from a 808, although i think z3ta is a bit over the top for subs,
i use blue for my subs just to generate the sine wave, any modulation is then done in audio and note changes by pitch shifting

well you can tune 808 kicks, i've done this with Steinberg Wavelab where there's an option for 'pitch correction'. You simply click on 'Get Current Pitch' and then correct it to for example a low C, or whatever note you want.
