Couldn't we have had a Grime sub forum?

Funky is really really shit, but if you like it that much then head on over to the PureGrime forum, they have a section about it with loads of free music, only problem with PureGrime is it's full of idiots, you won't find any discussion or debates about anything, just strange 16 year olds trying to be badmen.

Thats kind of why I'm happy that there's a funky sub-forum here now; there, is on the whole, plenty of intelligent people, capable of menaingful discussion, on DSF.

as i mentioned earlier in this thread there did used to be one but interest in it started to die out and it ended up as the other music forum. funky on the other hand has lots of interest atm so a separate forum makes sense rather than cluttering up both the main forum and the other music one

and if you think funky is "really really shit" then why do you feel the need to keep posting in here? if you like dubstep then post something about dubstep instead of filling up this forum with unconstructive comments

now we need the following subforums as well imho

-wonky
-post-wobble
-neurostep
-harddub
-donk style

im sure i could come up with a few more....but those extra 5 are a good start

for the record...im officially not making dubstep or electro anymore....i make "trillbass" its a seperate genre, lifestyle, and diet.....we too can one day have our own subforum if we try hardenuff to push this sound....who wants in?

You don't get it, funky is the continuation of dubstep. As jungle was to hardcore, as garage was to jungle and dubstep was to garage. Not continuation as evolved into, but more like influenced by and more importantly its the next big 'underground' dance music in London. Not saying those genres arn't continuations of dubstep, but they are not London based/influenced.

whatever. the truth of the matter is that some admin just likes funky so made it a subcategory. all of you should stop trying to explain how one genre is 'dead' and how funky is different because it's emerging and how it clogs up "other music" so should be granted its own space. no. we talk about a LOT of different genres all the time. just because this is your new fad doesnt mean there needs to be an obnoxious space about it. and you know what? i LIKE funky!

everytime i see it as its own category i think to myself, wow... if that's what people need to do to "establish" it as a "topic" on the brain of the forum, so be it. you've proved to me how branded you are. "dubstepforum" "Funky" ... separate separate separate. outlines. barriers. classes. jails of genres...

at least dubstep to me is every genre. literally, dubstep to me plays on every genre. now i have to stare at your FUNKY fad? even if this lasts longer than a fad, you treat it like a fad initially. cant you just be happy youre in a period of time where you are consuming so much info about this new genre?

fuck your funky fad. i like funky. but screw this fad. im not buying ANY excuse. i am steadfast in my ways, i say "OTHER MUSIC" is where it belongs.
you dont wana see me get eeeevil...

chillout people, there's no point in arguing about this - it will bring us nowhere. If people want to talk about "funky" or house, then let them. If people don't then DON'T CLICK ON THE FUCKING SUBFORUM

indeed

this forum's here and for the most part people are happy with it so if you aren't here to discuss anything about the music then jog on

wonderful input as ever. jungle doesn't sound anything like house but that doesn't mean it's not a continuation of a musical evolution
