Coachella sounds like festival hell. If you want a drink, you have to stand in these kind of bar areas, fenced in, and you're not allowed to take your drink out of that area to watch any of the acts. (Of course this only happens if you have remembered your ID and proved you are over 21 by queuing up in a separate queue). Coupled with the over the top drug laws and idiotic attitudes towards drugs, booze, and anything slightly left-field, I get the feeling that Coachella sounds like the worst festival in the world.

Which is a shame, America's got the weather and the countryside for some amazing festivals. They could do something fucking amazing, Glastonbury with sunshine, but no... they, or those in authority, have to sanitise it and make sure it is safe and conservative.

I bet Obama doesn't know about this - fuck Guatanamo bay, get your festials sorted out, Barack

Lots of sober people at Coachella:

Well you gotta be fucked to put up with this for nearly a week and still come out saying you had an amazing time

There have been some rumors going around that The Prodigy might play at Coachella over here in Cali. If that's true, I will definitely be going. I haven't seen The Prodigy since '06... they don't come to the states often enough! The lineup should be announced somewhat soon, so I'll know for sure then.

I heard there were some doubts about it this year, due to the dickheads who graffed the town during the course of the festy. The location is set to change I think. Looked absolutely perfect though - with boat trips out onto the adriatic. Earlybird tickets were only £50 as well!

Really want to try and go this year!

The line-ups are always good. I wouldn't go to see the Prodigy, saw them back in the day (1994-95) and they were amazing. Seen them since (2006) and no one bothered with their new stuff but went mental for their old school stuff. Was a bit funny watching 15 year old kids jump around off their faces to the exact same music I was jumping around off my tits to when I was there age! :o

Yeah, innit. Dunno about the 'unwind' part, though, it's gonna be pretty hectic!

I'll be going to Dour and to Lowlands Dour for the music and Lowlands for the atmosphere/everything else. Both have great atmospheres and Lowlands has some good music (last year they had Bong-Ra, 2562, Benga, Sigur Rós, Crystal Castles.. etc, so yeah, mostly stuff that is 'hip', though the majority of the line-up ain't my thang).

Dour beats all, though, in 2007 they had: Converge, Merzbow, Sunn 0))), Wolf Eyes, Stones Throw Records, Otto Von Schirach, Venetian Snares, the Wu-Tang Clan, Amon Tobin, Dr. Octagon, etc, all at one festival? Hell yes. =| Too bad I had to miss it.

2008 kicked ass too: Otto von Schirach, Drumcorps (Aaron Spectre), the Raveonettes, Battles, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan, Asva, Earth, Tortoise, DJ QBert, DJ Krush, Droon, Louis Logic, Black Moon, edIT, Flying Lotus, Zu & Dälek.. Good lord, it was good. I love Dour.

That's the second thing I've seen come out with a fancy dress theme since Bangface. Rip off merchants!

Any idea what you're going as, if anything. Magma?

I was thinking of getting my crew of 4 to all dress up as the MIB.

Also, EBOLA SYSTEM.
